The Trollface screen is the splash screen that comes on when you turn on the phone, before the boot anim. Replaces the HTC one.

Can be flashed using the splash screen flashing utility. Requires S-OFF !

Right, I didn't know whether it was doing something sophisticated.

The AlphaRev one is quite disturbing, I do need to replace it.

No not at that point, hence the trollface. GPS location is sent as soon as you send an SMS to the phone so basically as soon as someone turns it on the sms will arrive and gps location is sent. Either hard GPS or via network localisation so at least you'll know whereabouts it is. When close, you can then send a 2nd sms to tell the phone to ring at max volume so you can hear and find it.
