it says its fully compatable, dunno what to do TBH, although in theory it should be fine as GOW2 is one of the better developed games and looks nice anyway, and have been running Gamecube game on component leads on the Wii and they look good (although GC games are more cartoony in looks). Might wait for some more info.
 
How do I go about transfering picture off my sony memory card Duo ones ive just taken on my camera?, also how can i transfer music onto the interal hard drive, do memory cards work for this?

It is a list of Blu-Ray discs and if they will play in different regions, especially since it may be hard to change the region on the PS3, as it was in the PS2.

How do you get your videos to display thumbnails? I just downloaded the Casino Royale trailer but it just keeps the boring grey "video" icon. I thought it was supposed to display thumbnails. *wails*

I think if you pause it when its playing there is an item too click its called ICON it makes a 15 second clip for the menu not tried it myself but pretty sure thats what it does

Thats what i did press the triangle button and look for the change icon, it will then make the 15 second thumbnail from when you pressed it, so find a bit you like and try it from there( not at the end like i did ).
 
What's the deal with the resolution for HD videos?

I'm using component and have selected 720p and 1080i in the settings section. I downloaded the 1080p Casino Royale trailer and it doesn't even look HD, is a 1080p set required to view it and anything else just gets downscaled to SD?

Having seen the quality of the HD vids on xbl, I was more than dissapointed with how poor the quality of the trailer was. I'm assuming it's just the way I have set it up because if that isn't the case then Blu Ray has serious problems, you'd be hard pushed to tell any difference over a normal DVD at the moment.
 
My screen can't do 1080p so I have 1080i but I definitely noticed that Casino Royale was HD quality. Are you sure you've downloaded the HD version and not the SD one?
 
Is it all right to turn the console off with a disc inside it? I'm wondering if that's a recipe to get it scratched or stuck.
 
I think the manual says to remove the disc, but i never take discs out any of my consoles cos i am a lazy goit lol
 
I don't bother ejecting if I know I will be using the disc the next time I turn it on!

I also have auto-disc-load turned off as I like to see the sexy dashboard in 1080P ;)

yeah it's definately the 1080p version.

Have you got 720p ticked as well or just 1080i?

I'll download the SD version and check the difference.

I never take the discs out either, most likely all manufacturers would recommend removing the disc as standard. Should be fine as long as the console isn't moved.
