** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

Indeed, and it's quite obvious they are not worth that. When you look at the nuts and bolts of the X34, there's no arguing the fact that it's overpriced, but at the end of the day it's worth the highest price that people are willing to pay, and clearly plenty of people did. Same will be true of the Asus, even though it's the same monitor in different clothes.

Is it? I mean Predator XR341CKB is £750 which is fairly competitive considering other curved 34" 1440p cost upwards of £500 for 60Hz and no variable refresh. Dell 34" that uses the same panel but has higher response time is a good example.

Then there is cost of G-Sync exclusivity for X34, overclock that doesn't invalidate warranty and panel that always overclocks to at least 75Hz (in majority of cases it is 90, 95 or even 100 Hz).

Seems fair to me.

I agree. I bought the Dell U3415 and returned it for the X34 and think the extra money for the X34 is well worth it. The Dell had terrible back light bleed, more ips glow, 60hz only, slower response times and no gsync. Plus I also felt that the colours and overall image sharpness wasn't as good on the Dell. I paid £620 for the dell and £930 for the X34. The Dell and X34 may share the same panel but that's were the similarities end at least it is for me.

New B grade X34 up and running

Got delivery of my B grade X34 today and it is looking great. As Leon4112 has found, my monitor flickers when set to 100hz, but is totally stable at 95hz.

As the monitor was fully boxed and still wearing all of its packaging, manual bad still sealed, all cables, etc present, I reckon it was 'failed' by Acer for not hitting 100hz.

There are no dead pixels and, as far as I can tell, absolutely no BLB. :)

I'm a happy chappy with only the sound to sort.

I want to try out the built in speakers to see what quality they are. However, I can't seem to figure out ho to get sound through the DP cable from my 980Ti. Any suggestions?

It's more likely someone returned it as it didn't hit 100hz and dropping 1k on a monitor I'd do the same if I end up ordering a brand new one before some b grade come back in.

Yeah maybe i would too i do love this monitor already its changed the way i use my pc and its so much better for it. Is it worth 1k yes i think so but even better at £500 its the reason i still browse the clearance section most weeks as ocuk b grade prices beats everyone auction sites included!!!!

Don't get me wrong half the price for the possibility of having to run it at 95hz I'm down with that even dropping from 144hz to get the extra space.

it really is a stunning screen mate even for the 1k price but those 8 for 500 are once in a blue moon price that you have to see on the day im quite surprised they lasted nearly 36 hours i saw it at 8:50 and bought one at 9:50 at there was 3 gone already it took another 24 hours to take the rest that's even after i posted in here.

i didn't post the link until i knew the guy i work with that was interested knew about it.

surely the price of the x34 can be dropped ocuk? im looking to buy one of these but not for 1k a quick search and it can be found for £800 new! thats with the 25% discount they are giving from their original price . i know no one can match your service but it shows you the mark up the screens have, maybe when the asus 34" comes acer will drop the price of the x34.
strange that the acer x34 were for sale as b-grades from £1000 to £500 yet the asus 27" 165hz also in b-grade has only £100 off.

This is the first G sync monitor I have and am impressed. On my 980Ti Battlefront stays on 95hz all the time (except some menu screens. Awesome!:)
Your 970 figures means that you can save up for the pascal cards ;)

Bought a brand new one in December for £903 . Now seen this bargain so I snapped the last two B-Grades just to see which one is best. It's not like I could lose much money on it when I eventually decide to sell the other 2 on lol can't believe the bargain!

My original monitor: is September build @ 100Hz and Windows/NVidia @ 95Hz or use custom 97Hz in windows is max. Otherwise perfect !

B-Grade no. 1 is November build and 100Hz stable.
Inside the box I found a note (from previous customer) to overclockers stating reason for return being coil whine at 100Hz on fully white background. My experience: anywhere outside of full white screen (e.g. maximized google) it's inaudible from seating position.

Had a listen to my original x34 and that actually makes a bit of noise too but you have to literally put your ear within an inch of it on fully white background. Used it every day for a month and never knew. Can't hear it from seating position even on fully white.

B-Grade no. 2 is September build with one dead (or stuck?) pixel near top right corner. Completely silent. 100Hz.

Both B-grades no scratches whatsoever and all accessories included

The biggest suprice for me by far is backlight bleed.
When those B-Grades arrived I compared it to my x34 they both seemed a lot worse but then I remember my original was exactly the same as them a month ago! It was bleeding all over the place and now just a bit on top left and seems so much better in comparison! Perhaps it's like with speakers and need to be run-in. Without direct comparison I would have never realised how much BLB has improved in my monitor over time! My top right was bleeding so much back then now its black and nothing down the bottom anymore either!

Don't know which one to keep now was expecting this decision to be easy.
They all have 1 very minor fault but seem perfect in all other areas.

Damn it! I only want one and you have three of them. Nvidia surround anyone? Second thoughts you better splash on new graphics cards!

Bet that would look amazing he should try that just for the lol's before selling it and take some pics :D

They are so big though you would need a meeting room desk for them haha.

Nice to see though not all bgrade stuff is crap.

Imagine Elite:Dangerous on it. On Mortal Kombat you would probably see entire arena.
Saying that... I'd rather play 10'320 x 1440 @ 40Hz G-Synced than standard 3820 x 2160 @ 60Hz V-Synced (from demands perspective) thats for sure !

Don't give me ideas LOL
