** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

Great :D

I never play in a dark room anyway, I was just trying to emphasise it.

I do have my first little worry though, although I'm not going to panic yet.

I have a weird issue where I run 100hz on the desktop no problem however I can't get it to work in ANY game. I definitely have G sync set up properly and also have Vsync off in game. I can run at 100hz for a second, but a few seconds later it'll drop to 60 and stay there.

This is in L4D2 and Borderlands 2 so I should easily power them above 60fps.

Not gonna worry yet. Will try a driver wipe etc, and possibly a different DP cable.

DOH

I'm an idiot. Apparently in the control panel Vsync is now a seperate option to Gsync (so in this monitors case if the framerate goes above the 30-100 gsync range normal Vsync will be applied.) I don't know why but that seemed to be the problem.

Was considering it but i think i will just go for the new Dell monitor.

I just want a bigger display with higher res and 144hz really, TN is fine for me.

I've got the colour pretty much exactly as my LG 34 inch was. They might not be accurate or but they look good to me. Made me realise how much sharpening I had enabled on the LG, it looks soooo different!

Well please to report that all is well, not a single dead pixel and only very slight BLB/glow in the bottom left corner. Other than that I love it!!

Will take some more pics in the daylight tomorrow as my cam is rubbish at night :)

The accessories..
1x HDMI cable
1x Display port cable
1x MHL cable
1x Main power cable
1x Euro plug
1x UK plug
1x Mounting bracket
Instuction Manual

Notice my dogs reaction to my sexy new screen lol

When everyone gets theirs tomorrow onwards, please look at something for me:

I've noticed the monitor has no sharpening feature at all. Ok fine, but compared to my LG (even when that was set to 0) I can't help but feel there's a noticeable degradation in image quality. It's not the panel, because if the game allows you to sharpen or you use sweetfx it's more than possible to get great image quality. I'm not the sort to add sharpening/sweetfx to any of my games because I'm not always a fan but I had to use the sharpening feature to improve the quality.

It was noticeable enough that someone who was looking at the two monitors side by side was able to notice and they're not tech savvy (to that extent). I'll see if I can take a picture later.

There is a Sharpening setting on my Freesync version. Its labeled 'super sharpeness' and can be adjusted from 0-10.

About a meter long mate.

Mine has arrived, can't wait to get home...
Just hope the sli classified's have the grunt to push all those pixels. I run 5880 x 1080 in my cockpit so it should be ok. Hopefully gsync will take care of anything I'm a bit short on power for.
Box is freaking huge!

Well that's potentially quite depressing and might even mean a return and I've not even turned it on yet.

Was getting bored so decided to read the manual for a change and saw the following:

G-Sync (displayport only)
3440x1440@60Hz GTX650Ti or higher

3440x1440@100Hz GTX960 or higher so does this mean I've forked out over a grand for a 100Hz monitor that I can only us at 60Hz even with sli 780 classifieds?

Arrived a short time ago.

Box is stupidly big. Really don't want to have to send this back:

Bleed and glow. I notice a bit of glow in the lower left but pretty much anything else visible in the image is barely noticeable to the the eyes (mine anyway). Lucked out, its really good. Top right and bottom right in the image seems much worse than it is.

A poor Witcher 3 shot sorry.

It overclocked to 100hz no problems and after a short game of Witcher 3 have noticed none of the issues some have had. It plays really smoothly, feels great actually and with most settings on Ultra and a couple on high (hairworks off) it ranges from 50-60fps.

Was worried about performance but it feels really good and so pretty confident about running games on high settings at this res. I don't play fast shooters anymore so can't really test anything.

No dead pixels that I can see.

I was blown away at the width and size. It doesn't really come across in photo's next to a 27" but its massive. Gaming looks as though it is going to be a very immersive experience. Support might be an issue? Metal Gear Solid 5 is tricky to run it seems but I'm hoping Fallout 4 works out the box. Flawless Widescreen seems a must have.

Will give more impressions as I use it.

OSD is appalling and cable to short only negatives so far.

I think you should be fine. G-Sync is supported on the 600 series cards. I am going to be running mine with SLI GTX 670's for now. Mine arrived today so when I get home and try it out I will let you know if it works for me.

EDIT: OK I just realised you are talking about 100 HZ and not G-Sync. I don't know why I read it that way in my head. Still i think you should be able to get 100 HZ if you turn settings down in newer games.
