Power Tools & General Tools Recommendations & Advice

Any recommendations for extraction hoover, don't want to spend a lot. Bagless and if can do wet would be a bonus

Just to add that adaptors are available to suit all the electrical tools you may have.
I bought a Kärcher refurb wet and dry and adaptors to fit my Bosch Pro range of tools and until I bought a Shark my partner used it more than the Dyson V8 Animal.

Current refurb model.

In the end I ended up getting this, more than enough for my needs.

Really depends on what you want to do and how much £££ :).

General mid/small hole drilling in brick/concrete, tile removal etc will be fine with a low range & low cost model - e.g. Screwfix have a bottom range Bosch 18v SDS bare at £99, £199 with 4ah & charger 2j impact. Bosch have a decent rep for sds and excellent parts availability.

Once you want 3j or higher the cordless are expensive e.g. £600 for a Milwaukee 5j with 2x5AH - https://www.sgs-engineering.com/mil...drill-kit-2x-5-5ah-batteries-charger-and-case . Although IIRC the corded Bosch heavyweight hitters are £400+

Bargain bucket Titan corded will be c£50-100 from small to big boy :)

This is going to be generally bigger work than the Titan was used for, although I've got a kango for the really big work. The Titan got me through 4 house rebuilds and did a good job.
The biggest advantage of battery is going to be remote areas of the site. Ive got 110v and can run it off the truck in places but there are areas where access is so limited.
Probably a second hand Hilti and a battery powered Dewalt are the ticket.

That does look good with the power outlet being a real bonus.

If you need to do fairly heavy duty work just off batteries, it'll get expensive quickly :) - eg https://www.bigredpowertools.co.uk/milwaukee-m18onefhpx-122x

I need an angle grinder for slicing through a concrete slab and also for raking out mortar joints.

Any recommendations please? I have Dewalt batteries so could go cordless but maybe a cheaper corded one is enough for what I need.

One that can fit a dust extraction device might be handy for when Im raking out old mortar.

I'm still using a cheap Aldi corded one for the few occasions a year that I actually need it.

It has however cut through Concrete Gravel boards and Fence posts, Channelled a Concrete Path, Cut an old Mill Stone into quarters, as well as cutting up various old metal poles etc to take down the tip.

The Aldi diamond cutting discs were cheap and did a great job and last a long time, the standard discs for cutting metal not so much - I'd probably pay a bit more for some quality discs next time (but then again I don't have anything to compare it to!)

Received more makita 40v stuff today. Only really because it was another cheap bundle including 2 batteries. Now I've got 4x 2.5ah and two chargers so can gradually pick up some bare tools etc.

I'm a sucker for buying stuff if I think the price is good.
Haha I do that as well. Bought a multi tool, sat in the garage for about 3 months before I used it, once.....lol. But it made that job super easy, so worth the money.

Exactly the same for me on the multi tool. Bought one and left in the garage. Used it the other day and wondered how I'd ever done without one - pretty sure it will be getting more use

They are very good tools. The XGT circular saw is excellent, probably my favourite saw.

How do you find these deals? There's a few tools I'm waiting to buy for when I need them but if a deal is to be had I'll take it!

The depths of Amazon lol.

This recent one was a VC002GLD22 vacuum. So that's 2x2.5ah batteries, a twin charger and the vacuum. Was a warehouse return and cost £322.

I justified it by considering the prices of batteries and charger alone and the vacuum itself is really good also.

Think it would retail at £600+

That's a total steal at that price and definitely the way to start getting in to the XGT battery system. Off to have a look now :D.
