Powerhouse SFF project

I have box and everything that was orignially included :p thinking about it i doubt i would go back to something that big after having owned it for just over a year, would probably end up buying an antec 300 or similar.

I haven't heard many good things about the portable X-Fi really, apparently its only half way there in most peoples eyes.

Its fairly silly that i have an i5 750 and GTX260 when all i play is Counter Strike Source and some other similarly specced games.

Only thing i want right now is the q08 + DFI and it to be quieter than my current computer :)
 
im thinking of some sharkoon golf ball fans, or fractal fans and changing the blue "led" super cool fan, to a white fan?

Go for the Fractal fans really, currently have 2 of the 120mm and 2 of the 92mm fans in my TJ07 and are silent but still move a perfectly good amount of air.

work is nearing an end now so i will finally be able to boot up the dfi in a few days, exciting times!

Only with 2gig of ram though as a backup :( untill the gskill ecos get rma'ed

comedy pictures of my gtx 280 on the dfi will be up soon though! (maybe with a fenrir sat ontop for lulz)
 
I have 3 weeks left i believe until i start my A level examinations, have them dotted around the q08 release date so will probably buy early and set aside for 2 weeks or until i get some spare time, need to sort some stuff out in the members market this week and then i'll get the DFI bought using paypal moneys :) My GTX260 is about the same length as my motherboard or maybe longer, I can't remember really so i'm going to guess the 280 is almost double the length of the DFI :p you got any word about what coolers will fit yet?
 
im not going to touch coolers untill i get the case. Trying to estimate maths is doing my nut in :D (and i really want to ram a 240 rad in the roof... lol) I'll put up with stock till then, as im not gonna use my pc much after all this uni work!
 
If it is going in the roof you will need to say bye to your 3.5 bay :p you would probably have to make some kind of ventilation hole next to the existing 120mm for sufficient airflow to the second half of the 240 but it should be fine in all fairness.

I had a roof mod made on my old v1000, oh im such a v series whore.

id preffer those kind of holes (better layout though, and i would have prefer a fully drilled roof blending in from the front, something id like on my v600 but it has stupid io connections on the roof.) rather than the roof on the stock q08 but, such is life. And the q08 should blatenly be called the mini V.
Wonder if i could mount a d5 vario in there under the drive bay too ;) ?
