This isn't a criminal trial.

This was a matter of money and leverage and saving face, jail was NEVER one of the outcomes possible.

His team clearly decided it wasn't worth going through a trial to maybe save some money so they've paid her off and she's happy with it.

No because murdering someone is a serious crime, while having sex with a legally consenting prostitute who was a prostitute before and after she met Epstein, is not.

We dont (and probably never will) know the full details of it, we do know that "a" payment is being made to her charities, but we dont know if that encompasses 100% of the settlement money or whether that charity payment is in addition to a personal payment
 
She demanded her day in court, he agreed and asked for a full jury trial, now she's taken the money with no day in court, and he's walked free with no criminal record.

Go back through the thread. It’s 30 pages. There were posters trying to claim that the victim was complicit because she was smiling in photos and was part of the collective trafficking operation (she met Epstein at 16 when she was a child iirc) and others, who, even now, are trying to claim that as she was 18 at one point it was fair game.

Such as this clever clogs.

He has paid her off, an effective admitting, after claiming he was clearly guilty and too wanted his day in court.

“Never met her. Don’t remember the photograph. I was in pizza express in woking. Can’t sweat. I demand a trial by jury. Ok here’s a big pile of money” doesn’t exactly look good.

To be fair though, you have zero credibility on legal issues, as you’ve demonstrated you don’t understand that civil law doesn’t result in criminal records.

I use to think that settling out of court was an admission of guilt, till I learnt that it is a lot more complicated than that and there could be a number reasons for settling. For example the court trial being a pointless endeavour because the court of public opinion has already decided your guilty.

She is hardly a vulnerable child, neither now, nor was she then. Women who negotiate a price for the use of their bodies, before or after the event have a well known descriptive name. She has just proven that name is rather apt, and set her price. Perhaps Andrew will learn to be more selective in the whores he sleeps with, and who provides them, presented so seemingly innocently. He has much to learn of this big bad world. No doubt those of more rounded worldly wisdom advised him of the potential pitfalls, arrogance and youthful testosterone won.
 
Settling out of court is not an admission of guilt. You can tell yourself that it is but thats about as sound as "no smoke without fire" when it comes to actual logic.

A settlement isn't an admission of guilt, that's a very naive view, it could have simply been cheaper than the legal fees of dragging it out. If anything it's an admission by Virginia Giuffre that it was only ever about getting a payday.

Its relatively common for celebrities and people of major public standing to settle stuff out of court (Ronaldo, Michael Jackson, David Boreanz, Britney Spears, Marilyn Manson, Kobe Bryant, James Franco) it doesnt always mean that they are guilty, now some of those most likely were guilty but thats not my point, my point is that settling is not 100% proof of guilt. There are other reasons, some of which have already been mentioned in this thread, why someone public would settle.
 
Mega result for the Royal Family, but there's something a bit off about this. Giuffre went from "I won't be paid off, I want my day in court" to taking a large cash settlement for charity. One has to wonder how far HRH's influence went in this.

It's all about legal fees. Neither can afford an expensive trial where the only real winners are the Press and the Lawyers.

Like plenty of said, I have nothing much to add on the verdict other than it's a shame we won't get to hear more details under oath.

But it's pretty crap to read how many people want to pile on Virginia than say how disgusted they are by Andrew. It's widely known that he's a bloody creep, he was literally mates with Epstein, and yet people would rather call her a prostitute than think for a sec and realise that you can be very vulnerable at the age of 17, and Andrew having girls served up to him in that manner makes him seriously culpable as a disgusting turd, if not an outright criminal.

He deserves everything negative thing that could be said about him for indulging in what he has. She at worst was naive, and being paid out a settlement is obviously very different to actually being a prostitute.
