Pro Cycling Discussion 2016

Cummings not a team player because he's not working for Cav? Do you know for sure he's going against team orders? Looks like he's doing exactly what he's meant to be doing in his team role - winning stages

I've seen Cav do a stint on the front for his team before, I've also seen Cav go back to the team car collecting loads of drinks bottles for the team. I only really see Cummings pottering along at the back of the peloton on his tod doing nowt or out front in a break on his tod. Im sure that is how his team allows/wants him to run, but it certainly isn't a team player role, it's a loners role glory or not.

Unless you're watching every stage to see what he's doing all the time I'd say it's very hard to judge, as you only have very limited stuff to go on based on the tv footage. Lots of stuff happens in races that you don't see. I saw a rider get off for a wee the other day for the first time in like four years of watching grand tours, but I don't believe that's the only time it's happened.

Contador has retired with a fever. Bit of a shame, but he clearly wasn't up to much. I wonder whether he'll actually retire for real now. Who does that leave for tinkoff? Kreuziger? Majka? Sagan, obvs, but not for GC.

That's fair comment, whenever you watch the cameras switch to the back of the peloton you see Cummings there at the back but don't see what he's up to when the camera isn't watching the back of the peloton.

You've never see someone pull over fumble with their bib shorts and the commentators mention he's stopping for a natural break?

Can we stop with the running updates in this thread? It should be nice to read it without seeing who is winning or has won.

If we wanted the updates surly we can just follow twitter or watch it.

It's a thread for commenting on the racing. I watch delayed usually but would comment to the live comments to generate discussion. Don't see any problems with it. No different to the football or f1 threads.

Just watching the highlights again.

Contador was keepingup relatively well. Surprised he didn't try survive the day and assist kreuizger, who is impressing me.

Was a good day with racing all over for points, finish, sprints etc. Fantastic ride by dumoulin, but also Adam yates and Dan Martin. Be interesting to see how he fares when it comes to the final week,as he usually wilts over time. Wonder if porte will be trying to take back his team leader role too. Didn't seem too bothered to help tvg.
