Pro Cycling Discussion 2016

here's a question that none of the eurosport guys asked, what happened to all the extra police that are supposed to be on this years tour ?

The thing is; this is the beauty and the curse of pro tours. They are so great in part because fans can get so close. It's also incredibly dangerous..

But the fans have shown time and time again on these big climbs that they can't be trusted to police themselves this has been an accident waiting to happen for a number of years now. I doubt we will see Ventoux ridden without more barriers in future.

You can see various police at the side of the roads. They don't appear to be doing much to try and keep fans at bay but then I guess how could so few do so?

You can also hear fans booing Froome.

like i said a few posts ago, what happened to the extra policing that has been talked about for this years tour. it was pathetic.

It's not the first time this has happened (although it may be one of the most dramatic). Historically, the results have never been changed after incidents like this.

This wasnt the originally planned finish remember, so that may be why there was a lack of barriers near the top.
