PRO EVO 2008 demo market place

arg this makes me annoyed! They will change everything else, but they never get the stats of the players right. Why dont they just look at Football Manager and use those stats - they are as accurate as it gets.

:D

Spain are the team I use so i was a bitted gutted. Even Torres stats are poor compared to Reyes. Torres was my weak link in last years evo, I used to swap him out for Joaquin. I thought I would be fine this year as Torress would be much higher, sadly not. :D

I'm not trying to score the same way over and over. Its football you often break free of the defense or last man to go 1v1 with the keeper from an angle.

I said I'd had 20 shots in situations like that with no joy.

Had a few games and the scoring is very different to the last one. Ive not yet been able to score using the normal technique I used in the last one. The keepers are saving just about everything I throw at them despite lnocking it down to level 2.

Sounds to me like you have a normal cheese way to score, and you can't do it anymore so its bad :p

So a complete swap from years gone past then?

Fifa used to be arcadey fun and PES always was the real thing.

Definetly, a role reversal, although the last couple of Fifa's have been more sim like, they just had too many bugs to make them enjoyable.

I personally dont mind, as long as we have one great football game to play, then im happy, im not that stuck up that i wont play FIFA more if its better, unfortunately some people will now not even give it a chance, anything saying pro evo is better than FIFA is simply not giving it a chance, anyone saying something like "FIFA just got owned!" is not giving it a chance and an extreme fanboy to boot.

Ive played probably over 600 games of pro evo 6 in the last year, i love it, pro evo 2007 isnt much different, graphics a bit better maybe, but theres no massive changes, Fifa has moved on so much, fluid play, a slower pace, its great, i cant stop playing the fifa demo, i would go as far to say ive played the fifa demo more than ive played the last 10 fifa games :p

Maybe cause Spain aint all that good really, no matter how much the players playing in England are over hyped :D

You may like it. its worth trying.

Good holiday?

I'm downloading both PES and FIFA to compare the two like I do every year :)

Fantastic holiday thanks mate! Weird that I set off to come home yesterday at 7am (time difference -8 hours) its weird trying to get your head round it, ha ha! Got to stay awake, should be about 4/5am in America now so my body should be sleeping!! Got to stay awake until tonight though to adjust..Crazy!

Mine came down in about 1.5hrs on a crappy DSL connection.

Not seen any tearing or pausing like others have.

Fairly slick gameplay with the faster players actually outrunning the slower ones unlike PES6.

Keepers seem more realistic in their dives and no gaffs as yet.

Good sound effects.

Perhaps it is a little more arcadey than previous versions......

Looking good to me - I didn't download the FIFA demo tho.

Exactly, I know you played as much of the last evo as I did. I really dont see how its even better than the last one, let alone fifa.

I dont mean to rag on the game I'm just so dissapointed, I spent hundreds of hours on 6 and had such high hopes for this.:(
The only slight defence I can give for this is that it is very common to hate each new version of Pro Evo initially, but given time it usually comes into it's own. I've hated every new version at first, it's only 5 and 6 that struggled to turn this around.

The only reason I probably wont bother this time is that I know it won't match up to 4 no matter how much I play it, so why bother?

Tried the FIFA demo while this is downloading...intially i thought 'wow' just the the warmup screen when you practice against the goalie. But getting in a game..not quite so wow..typical, nasty FIFA game. Just don't like it one bit. Feels like you're playing in mud and barely in control of your player.

Not a patch on Pro Evo in my opinion, but now waiting for that demo to come down to compare.

Because your to used to the ultra fast gameplay and arcade feel of PES that my perspective. :)

Give Fifa 08 more time and im pretty sure i will see your opinion change but fair do's if it dont you like what you like. Fifa has more steep learning curve then PES pick up and play as i say arcade feel. To many just chuck Fifa away totally different game and does a lot better then PES and PES has better points then Fifa personal choice end of day but i think people to quick to dismiss Fifa.

I was going to reply, but would have just said the same.

I know how much Bingham loves his pro evo, even buying japanese imports on PS2 and such like, I feel exactly the same way, Fifa has the learning curve, if you pick up and play it and dismiss it, you are not going to learn anything about the game.

Mr Men you are coming across as a blinkered fan boy, and when someone like Bingham, probably the biggest PES fanboy there is on the forums likes it, that speaks volumes.
