PROJECT: MAGNUS AQUA DOMUS!

Doing quite well so far, only problem with the board thus far is lack of decimal while applying base clock. Though so far its at 104 (129mhz on 1.25 strap). Memory is holding up nicely with little input so far, retaining C9 for 1720mhz.

Next, push the multipliers on both CPU and RAM ;)

Edit: Not bad for a few mins work

Edit: Time to read up on sammy greens, and possibly a new bios, I can only set a minimum of 1.5150v for dram voltage, no biggie as I don't mind it sitting at 1.5v. Though 2000mhz @ C11 1.5v is crashing on post

The Sammy Greens can sit at 1.65v all day long without heatsinks. Do not be afraid to push the volts on them..

Regardless of which, on my 3930k they sit at 2333MHz @ 1.55v 10,11,11,21,1T,96

Yep thats just for benching, I'll leave it around 4.6ghz for 24/7.

I'm going to fish around for a better bios before I push it any further, the base doesn't like being at 104 as soon as I push the memory in any way on that base it will crash or fail to post so going to drop down to 103 for now.

Cheers Rossi, I'll put them up to 1.65v until I find a sweet spot then try take it down a touch :)

5ghz under prime was hitting ~60c, 4.3ghz was around 52c, so I do have the thermal headroom to go above 5ghz, just need to keep the voltages in check.

I'll have a look after top gear mate as I still need to tune the base and memory (sat at ~1700mhz C9 atm). May even drop down to 100 base on 1.25x to get the memory in line first.

thats impressive mate. Been watching this thread since the start and had been great watching this behemoth come to life.

Whats the noise like on the fans ? I think I asked you this earlier in the thread but you hadn't assembled her yet. Do you have them on a fan controller, interested in knowing what the noise is like on different speeds.

Great build :D

As someone mentioned before though, personally I would try and make some kind of panel to cover up all those wires.

That overclock is mental, so are those temps! :p

At full 12v, 6 of them, its pretty loud but they are shifting a fair amount of air, I have them either off or at around 1000 rpm which is near silent, just the noise of moving air :)

A steal at £3 each imo.

Found a leak on a compression on the bottom rad, if I can't clamp the hoses off to sort it I'll have to drain :(

Lighting is going to be the final phase.

Looking back I'm not overly happy with it as it stands so may change some bits sooner rather then later:

  • Clear tubing (tygon) with pastel fluid
  • PSU down to the bottom, 360 on midplate
  • New 140mm fans (something with LED's)
  • Lighting!!
  • Acrylic plates

If I could budget it (I can't) I'd perhaps drop the 2 x 360's in favour of 2 x 400 (200.2) radiators too.

Wow, after being away for the weekend, and I find this chugging away like the clappers is awesome! I would go with clear tubing and coloured fluid imo.

I'm on the case ;)

Money no probs, i'd say a couple of custom radiators would look good in there, something that fills the available space nicely.

To fill the case you would need the radiators I mentioned (the 400's). Though only available at ~30mm thickness.

Awesome build, thanks for the advice block ordered!!(got the last one phew!)

No worries bud :)

THINK I'm decided on how I'm taking this forward, basically, PSU dropped to the bottom compartment, 360 rad on midplate and hopefully something special covering, well, everything, I don't want any of the back exposed including the excess motherboard tray.
