Project - MAN CAVE !

Wheres the stripper pole?

Had one specced up which was around £200 (its moveable too so you don't have to keep it in one place all the time!) - But can't justify it yet, I want to get the TV/Surround sound all wired up, but before that, need to get the walls painted n stuff! hoping to get that done this weekend!

Pinball Machine and Video Cabinet required to truly make this a 'Man Cave'.

Got the plans for a video cab on the go already. Going to do it using a raspberry pi - My missus' dad is going to actually build the cab for me to my specifications, as he's **** hot with his woodwork skills!

Pinball table is a no go i'm afraid, too expensive and I don't think i'll have room once everything is in there!

Tell me about it... moved into our new place last May... Since then every room has been repainted to magnolia! (thankfully bought a big batch of cans on a B&Q '3 for 2' offer!). She also seems to have used it as an excuse to buy lamps for nearly every room to tone it down?!:p

What he said! ;)

We got ours in the same B&Q bargain ;)

There is still a few bits n bobs sitting in there that I need to get rid of!
- spare car tyre with hardly any tread left for a car we no longer own???
- tabletop dishwasher, that still works but we have no use for!
- Garden items, like pots etc (I've ordered one of those garden storage boxes to go outside, not having such girly things in my cave!)
- Tumble dryer, I'm told this needs to stay, so may box it in with MDF so it generally can't be seen as much!
- Other random stuff lol

Firstly, I love that pool table/ air hockey table!!!

Surely this will be needed by the bar for washing up the glasses??? :)

I have a missus who can remove said dirty glasses/items from the man cave and place them in the dishwasher in the kitchen ;)

...Haven't told her yet though!

Little mock up I did...

Man Cave 1.0

- Bar on the far right
- Along the left wall will be boxed in with lift up lids for storage/seating combo.
- Wall mounted TV with sub/amp underneath
- Speakers in each corner
- Sofa (getting this when parents replace theirs. One of those IKEA jobbys where you can replace the cover)
- Bar stools, will be in by Christmas (early crimbo pressie from the family)
- Air Hockey Table against the wall (we decided to ignore the fact that its a pool table for the time being!)
- Cappuccino walls to be done this weekend.
- Going to go with the Epoxy Flooring which will be the next thing to complete before xmas!

Got some Stools for the bar area, as per diagram.

Also did the first coat on the walls, looks really nice. Pictures to follow!

Starting to look more like a room and less like a garage!

Looking good.

Being a garage doesn't make it too damp does it?

Its a brick built garage, but doesn't seem to be any damp in there at all really. Has double glazed windows/door on the front and electric roller shutters on the back.

The only time i've ever seen any damp in there is when the missus uses the ever so manly tumble dryer!

Forgot to take pictures of the paintwork last night, as our boiler broke down over the weekend so had some blokes round to fix it... alas, need a new boiler so its knocked my Man Budget (Mudget, if you will) down a little bit!

Liking the project. Moving into a new house myself on Friday and have plans to look at something for the garage. Shame I'm not very good at woodwork like so might have an ask around to see if anyone can help me for a few crates of beer!!

Going to be full of stuff for a month first like as moving her Mam out of our 2nd home to the one we are in so she's downsizing and using our new garage as storage until we sort something out. (or sell it all off).

Will keep an eye on your updates for inspiration!! lol

I've got a punch bag, weights bench and adjustable weights set etc ready to go in and already have a large fridge freezer spare and a 2 seater sofa. So think I'd just need a pool table really

Sounds good! I had a friend help me out with the woodwork as we wanted something quite bespoke to fit into the corner. There are some video tutorials etc that will show you how to build a free-standing bar.

We've found we have used the Air Hockey table loads more than the pool table when we've had friends round. Which works out quite well as the air hockey table is much more forgiving on space. i.e it can be put up against a wall so you don't have to have cueing area around the whole of the table.

Purchased all of the ducting to run a network cable from the house to cave, so that's ready to go. Also planned out making the 100" Projector screen for the wall and ordered a few of the bits :)

EDIT: ZOMG CHRISTMAS SMILIES!

You have given me some drive to turn my Garage into an Office, Currently i just use it for Crap... And i never need any of it so may as well chuck it all out/sell what i can.

I managed to score a 1080P projector on the Bay for 1/5 of its RRP as well as the guy listed it incorrectly so I have a reason!

Ohh glad i'm getting people motivated! :p

Which Projector is it? - Still looking for a Full 1080p PJ... struggling to find anything thats lower than £300. Which is really my max budget.

Can find 720p PJ's for around £150 though, but is it worth it in the long run!?

Ohhhh I forgot to update with new wall colour... still not sure if I like it or not yet, I think it will be much better when there are things actually on the walls! Will make sure I update later!

On another note, I've purchased my Projector, should be arriving today!

Optoma HD230X - Full 1080P HD.

Start making the screen for it tonight - Need to nip to B&Q to get myself a huge bit of MDF and some paint!

Heres the Projector which shall be projecting... ALL THE SPORTS

Also got round to making the screen last night...

Tested it a little bit last night but still need to run all the necessary cables and sort out the surround sound :)
