Project - MAN CAVE !

Managed to clear a load of things out on Saturday, couple of trips to the tip (can it get any more manly!?).. anyway, I've stuck up a few pics of what it now looks like, after i've cleared out 'most' of the junk.

Still need to find a home for the Drum kit (may sell!), Gardening stuff (over 9000 pots!) and the pool table. I'm tempted to get rid of the pool table I've got and buy a proper 'pub style' table. I can't stand flimsy tables!

From the side of the bar (can see the flimsy pool table legs upside down on the right hand side)

View from just inside the doorway

...and again..

Little view behind the bar, which STILL needs the edging!

Next on the list is the find a colour scheme for the walls, and decide what to do with the floor... Carpet Tiles, Lino Tiles or just paint the concrete?! decisionssss :(

I don't like Dudley Council, Sandwell are much better.

I'm stuck with Dudley though :(

Duglaaaay :(

I'm not a fan, been here since February and still don't have my green bin!... I keep putting all my grass cuttings in next doors, mwuahahah!

Where abouts in sunny H'owen are you?

Could you find some cheap laminate? Looks good, easy to clean, easy to lay might save some time as well?

I think tiles/carpet are a pain if anything get's spilt on them?

Maybe a roll of lino, instead of tiles?

It's a shame this stuff isn't cheaper, we've used it and it looks great.

Yeah some cheap laminate might be worth a shout to be fair. Could always use a few packs of those tiles above to go around the bar, so It doesn't look like a laminate fest ^^

My missus' brother has those tiles in his bathroom, they look really really nice!

I like the idea of the combo with the tile effect around the bar, otherwise the bar will disappear into the floor lol.

That doesn't look to bad for the price actually. Don't forget it's probably a good idea to throw down the Sparra plastic sheet (presumably to deal with any moisture that might come up from the concrete) and the Niva lining like they say, otherwise I can imagine it might be pretty noisy to walk on and it's unlikely the concrete will be perfectly flat. So the lining will help level it out, so it's evenly supported and wont shift about when you walk on it.

I'm sure the carpet/lino tiles would be cheaper but I imagine they'd take longer to lay and wouldn't look half as nice, where as the laminate is pretty quick and easy if you got a jigsaw.

I don't have a jiggy, but we have a communal family one ;)... Standard!

Yeah think I'm certainly going to have the tiles around the bar, you're right, it would disappear, especially with both surfaces being laminate.

Not sure which colour would compliment the bar though, I'm useless at things like this.

Mentioned getting rid of my Pool table... and just been reminded of how much fun Air Hockey is, after a quick google, found you can buy flip tables of Air Hockey/Pool... and now i'm in love :o

Near Blackheath Sainsburys. I've got a Halesowen address though so that's all that matters!

Oh you lucky devil!

We looked at a house up the hill, round the back of the lighthouse pub, and those new Barratt ones at the bottom of the hill. We got more for our money having a DY postcode though.. and the area is really quiet, near Mushroom Green, so we say we're actually from there ;)

Damn these sacrifices!

Sooooooooooooo....

only went and brought an Air Hocky/Pool Table.

Bit more sturdy than the crappy pool table than I had before. Got it at a steal of a price on the bay of E's!

Some damage near the goal area on the hockey side, but nothing thats going to effect play or can't be fixed! Worth it for the price I got it at.

Off to collect on Saturday!

Decided to go with painting the floor instead of covering it in tiles etc... however will still be tiling around the bar so it doesn't look lost!

Quick question though. Painting a concrete floor... Is there a best way to go about this? bare in mind I'm a bit of a DIY newbie here. Going to be a dark red/burgandy colour if that makes any difference.

Might need a new thread for this, lol

Use a roller on a short pole it will make your life much easier, sand back any corse/lumpy bits, hover and wash it let it dry overnight then paint.

Oh yeah DONT use a textured paint it will mark something chronic!
