Project: Rad In Mi Kitchen

I am now posting from Rad In Mi Kitchen :D

Okay, here's what I've done so far:

  • Installed latest GPU drivers
  • Installed GPU-z
  • Installed motherboard drivers from disk
  • Connected to Net
  • Installed Microsoft Security Essentials
  • Installed Steam
I might get the latest mobo drivers from the net. I think I'm going to tidy up then unpack my dell 23", g15 and g9 :D :D :D

wish i had a monitor that wasn't a 15" CRT :D

It really diminishes what my gfx card can do :D

Don't worry, look at my vid. I was on a 15" too. In fact, today was the first time I've ever used a widescreen monitor :)

i find i have to do that a lot. clicking, scraping, buzzing, rattling all solved with a quick kick/rock.

Who says violence doesnt solve anything?

Violence > All

Speaking of which I just played GTA. Full settings, 1920x1080. Looked great. Then I quit and quickly loaded gpu-z. Gpu temp was 39'c. Not bad :D

Also, would someone please be kind enough to recommend some good free software for reading cpu temp? Everest and the like all cost funds :(

hmm, having only ever used stock air cooling in the past, I never bothered with temps. But my cpu is running at 40'c idle, when I turn the fan speed down to 700rpm. The only thing I can hear is my pump lol. Does that temp sound about right?

thanks, just checked out openhardware monitor
No it's not overclocked yet.

After a heavy GTA session, the cpu peaked at 51c and the gpu peaked at 45c. Not bad, except the tubing does feel quite warm and the radiator still feels very cold :p

This came with my psu. It just appears to be a power switch that can be plugged into a pci port. Can someone confirm this?

to be honest, I'm very surprised that my cpu is a higher temp than my gpu. First of all the gpu produces more heat, and not only that but the cpu is first in the loop

seems to be a "overclocking key" apparently.
used to group the individual 12v rails into a single 12v rail.

either controlled permanently via a jumper on the PSU or via this switch.
only to be pressed when the power supply is switched off.
odd thing to have in a PCI slot imo :|
