Project: Rad In Mi Kitchen

to be honest, I'm very surprised that my cpu is a higher temp than my gpu. First of all the gpu produces more heat, and not only that but the cpu is first in the loop

I'm suprised at that temp too actually... thought you'd be mid 30s with that setup...

Looks damn nice though! :)

PMSL that's loaded is it? OH! My bad lol - no no, that sounds fine in that case :o

Don't mind me, I'm just being retarded again :-(

As I said elsewhere today - reading is over rated...

(I seem to have been having a bad brain day!)

Thanks mate, I'm going to calibrate my monitor, I really love the Dell, it's actually amazing :D

Oh God, this pc is VERY addictive. I'm already thinking about what upgrades I'm going to do :o

I'm thinking that for my next upgrade I'm going to do one/some of the following:

  • Get some dye into the water or get coloured tubing
  • Watercool the mobo (not really needeed, but watercooling is very addictive :p)
  • Get a better ssd, like a revodrive or something
  • Add an EK multi res (already have a res, but I'm considering another one, just for funsies
  • More/better ram
  • Need to get some proper speakers, don't want to use my fatal1ty headset for everything
  • Some nice lighting in the case, like cathodes or something.
At the moment, I probably won't be doing any of the above for a long time, with the exception of the dye and the lighting, I'll be looking into that soon.

If anyone has any suggestions for upgrades, feel free. I'll be home in two weeks, and I'll probably be attempting some nice overclocking, and I'll install the rest of my games :)

Just clocked to 3.8ghz and cpu is idling at 37'c. Ouch is all I can say. I'm thinking I used a little too much thermal paste on the cpu, a lot more than what I used on the gpu.

I'm idling at 37 on air at 4.1

Doesn't sound TOOOOO bad, but with your setup I thought it could be a bit lower... maybe a couple of degrees

yeah, I might reapply the thermal paste and see if that makes a difference. But I suppose that load temp is all that matters. I'll play GTA in a little while and see what the temp reaches.

About 36-38 idle with my new water set up, which is about the same as when I had the Fenrir. Like you I was expecting lower at idle. I guess its the way it is. As you say it's the load temps that count and they're well down. like 20 degrees down

I find idle temps to be on average the same or even a bit higher than air like g dubs said load temps are where you will see an improvement 20C is great, but between good air and average water you might be lucky to see 5-10C.

Here's what it currently looks like from the front:
