The bottom one looks poor in comparison to the top one, i don't know how u can say the bottom looks better ben_j_davis, look at the detail on the face of the top one

Lets get this straight, I used to be against the Xbox, but having seen it in action it isn't that bad.

However, I can't help but think this is going to completely and utterly rip apart the 360. The technical specs are superior in all respects, and the launch titles don't look half bad either. It also supports Blu-Ray, a REAL HD source for films, unlike the 360 :D

Still not as good as my X1900XT though :D

wouldn't call it superior! - more unkown quantity!

Lol i new their 2 screens with 1080p plan would work:P, and tbh the graphics are very very similar imo. not worth 200 quid anyway, and im not gonna get started on the pad, i'll be jumped by fanboys

Graphically PS3 is a very step up!

FFXIII and LAIR. HOT.

But removing the HDMI support from the cheaper version is comercial suicide, i thought the whole reason they have delayed the PS3 so much was to release it along with Blu-ray and HD movies. I people cant get a cheap Blu Ray player then HD-DVD has won the battle.

Its less worse than SKYHD. You certainly dont need it to watch the majority of movies in HD. Its just the protected ones.

Graphically PS3 is a step up from anything so far. Crysis has been beat.

Still dont see how they have managed to get a game running at maximum detail at about 1900*1200, most dual core, Sli/crossfire PC's would struggle.

Easy...Japanese devco's are massive and better funded than 99% of the western PC devco's.

The teams that work on the GT series number in the hundrerds...they have access to the PS3's inner most secrets and the production values of Japanese artists and programmers is generally higher.

Also you have to remember that PC's never get decent programming in the first place.

The hardware upgrade cycle means that the full potential of an Sli/Crossfire system will never be seen, because the development teams always move on to the next 'big' thing.

Im sure that if the team behind GT were let loose on a X1900/7900 crossfire/SLi system, the results would be astonishing and put most western games to shame.

It was a rolling video, how is that in game footage?

Your right!

Even I'm being taken in by Sony's marketing hype machine!

:p:D

Not CGI but I believe using the game engine to run a scripted sequence. But your correct, not actual "person with controller in hand playing game video".

It's expensive and they are still selling it at a loss. Remember that nVidia are probably charging sony uber money for the RSX as they were pretty desperate for a solution once they realised the Cell woun't cut it as a graphics processor. The blue ray stuff also costs a bomb.

I think I'll pick up a PS2 once the PS3 is released as the price will finally have come down to something I would consider paying for a console.
