It probably is the in game engine, but once they chuck the AI etc in, that's when it's worth taking note of the level of graphics IMO :)

I don't think it looks all that good anyway to be honest, although it's really hard to tell with poor video quality.

Tekken was the worst looking game there. Dont make use WOW as an example of PC's best looking game. :p

Download the FFXIII, LAIR and Heavenly Sword trailers and tell me they arent amazing.

Im going to get a PS3, but the price is putting me off at the moment.

If you want to see how good the graphics on the PS3, check out the Metal Gear Solid 4 videos and the Killzone 3 videos

lol, Killzone ? You're joking aren't you?

None of the videos I've seen today say to me "Gosh, that's amazing, I don't think the 360 could run that". A lot of the other videos are still either FMVs, like Killzone, or are impressive ingame footage, such as MGS4, but still not ingame.

Whats the crack with all this sony slagging then? Everything they do seems to get criticised on here.

One example is earlier this morning in the sony conference thread. Everything that they showed was slagged regardless of whether it was good or not. There were a few positive comments but those were quickly drowned out with comments like 'Pffft, that could be ran on the 360 anyday!'. Granted that a lot of it was pre-rendered and nothing new, but theres no need to **** it just because its sony. If it was Microsoft's or Nintendo's conference and they were doing the same, i doubt a lot of negative comments would be said.

Just to note, im not saying this as a sony fanboy at all, Niether am i trying to create a fanboy war. God i hate that word.

As for the PS3, im not sure if i'll be getting one yet. I need to know a little more information about it first, eg like the online capabilities, exclusive games etc. Also the price does seem a little high, and it may have to come down a little for me too purchase one.

Forget last years stuff. Nearly everything this year is 100% realtime. Most oh what they showed was good. Online gaming is free. They reassured their exclusives. With xbox and Wii it looks the same old issue of attracting 3rd parties. The retard PS3 pack makes the premium Xbox 360 pack look retard. Clearly the win on value.
 
i think the reason sony is getting slagged is they promised something better than it is, from what ive seen personally its just the xbox 360 in different plastic shell, now thats no bad thing, but when sony promised stuff like the killzone trailer, that wont come to fruition

Yea totally understand. Like when they promised toy story graphics with the PS2 'Emotion Engine' and stuff. I know they often promise things that are not true, but im sure Microsoft are guilty of it too. (Not sure about Nintendo :p)
I dont see this as a reason to constantly **** sony off though as it just gets repetitive and boring. Just learn to take everything with a pinch of salt as im sure a lot of you do. :)
 
I havent really been that interested in the PS3 at all doesnt offer me anything new tbh and im more than happy with what i got now and for me to pay that much it has to offer some thing a lot more. As said the price of the 360 was quite high so ure looking at least another £100-150 for the PS3 i just cant justify spending that much on something thats so mediocre.

Also i dont like the PS2 controllers that much i find them quite nasty to hold and not the best for long gaming sessions, especially using the dual things. To me the 360 has everything i want and now and the controller is proberly the best ive ever used!

I heard on radio1 they were aiming to get 4million units made by launch but also heard they had yeild :confused: troubles?
 
all i've got to say about the demo's even if they are scripted, the MGS4 one was using the in game engine also, i got one thing to say the xbox 360 owners (inc me) AA BABY!!!
even if the PS3 actually runs some AA then imho thats worth a fortune
And even then lets got on Sony's 'expensive pack'
how much xbox gonna cost for that??

Premium - £270
HD-DVD drive - £100
60 gig HD Drive - £70

Oo'er thats £440 unless i am much mistaken
So now tell me, since thats the 2 consoles up to a simialr spec (we wont add on the 40 quid for live), the PS3 is too expensive
And lets not get started on the poor sods that where Core owners :p

[edit] as for the size, 360 owners carefully forget the fact that there is a power brick also to factor into the size of the console, both of which need to be kepts in a sterile container, running at a constant -16 degrees ambiant and it might mean your machine wont crash.

Yes you have.

Premium comes with a hard disk and then you've added a 60gig on top
