PS4 and Xbox Rumours

Microsoft v Sony fanboys are almost as bad as the Apple v Google lot.

What do you lot get from jizzing all over one console and playing down another? Learn to appreciate the tech as a consumer and not a fanboy and you'll be better for it.

Meh I'm fine with the presentation but that's cos I'm sticking with the PC for most games.. it looks like I'll have to get an Xbox for FIFA... and well we'll see what exclusives they announce at E3 to keep me interested further.

And? How doesn't it? Much like a device like Play TV, all you'll need is the source and it'll replace the features of a TiVo style device.
LOL do you even have an idea what you are typing? Youre the one advising that the Xbox One advantage is that it does both things opposed to the PS4, yet in reality you still need a console and the TV box for either console.

At least attempt to make a decent point. Bless...

So if I buy an Xbox game, I pay for the game, and pay for Xbox live to play it online.

Now if my Son wants to play that game as well, he has to pay a separate fee to link the game I already bought to his account. Then he has to pay for Xbox live to play that game online as well.

Come on guys you must see that it's bonkers!?

Ok a lot of us were on the fence after the PS4 reveal and said we'd wait till the Xbox reveal to make up our minds.

Was just wondering which way those of you are leaning now after the reveal? or is it still too early to call?

Personally i'm probably going to pre-order / order the PS4 given that i'm not really interested in the major features of the Xbox One.

Edit: Xbox wont work without Kinect connected

What...?

It's called intergration. So the tv box becomes a dumb source device that can sit untouched. This can then be controlled from a central point, the Xbox and Kinect.

So immediately I can sit on my sofa, using the one device to jump between TV, Skype, music, films, games, all without having to juggle multiple remotes, turning things off and on, switching inputs on my av receiver, switching hdmi ports on my tv etc etc.

I need to know when the release dates are really, as I just want both. So which ever is released first, thats the one I'll be playing.

Although I'm tempted to import a PS4 when its released, I think my japanese is good enough to get by with a play around with an import

Having to have kinect plugged and and fees for my nephew to play my game...

This is not going well, I was on the fence but I'm only heading one way at the moment,

Roll on e3

Play TV takes the signal and acts as a tuner (and recorder) though. The Xbox One receives the HDMI input, therefore it's not receiving the original signal, just what your STB is outputting.

It's a feature that's going to need a lot more clarification at a later point really, because right now, I can't see how it'll tie in with say, a Sky or Virgin box. Neither provider is likely to be willing to allow the Xbox to record programmes when their own boxes already do.

Edit: Perhaps they'll come out with their own Freeview HD tuner that connects to the HDMI input, and can then be controlled from the console. Other boxes aren't necessarily going to work in the same way though.

This is pretty much the key here. I imagine the Xbox will end up limited to Freeview and thats if they secure a deal.</speculation>

Just seems like MS are craming a lot of stuff into a console and forcing people to pay for it who dont want it.

PlayTV is how MS should have done it. If you want the feature you can buy the odd on, if not you dont have to pay for it.

But most of these features are in the 360 anyway, this is just the next gen of them.

Lmao at the 3 or 4 members of the Microsoft defense force in here. The fanboy panick is hilarious

I swear we've got a whole lot of idiots in here. What's the downside to a console that plays the same games and does more than another one?

Seriously:

Same games.

Kinect.

TV integration.

Better controller.

Just as many exclusives.

If the price is similar, it's looking like you'll get a whole lot less for your money with Sony.
