PS4 and Xbox Rumours

LOL one was given away and one wasnt - work out why your conclusion on adoption rate is a fallacy. I surmise that the vast majority of 360s and PS3 are therefore connected via composite than HDMI for similar reasonings...

Lets see who says DERP first!

Not really, if they gave away wireless headsets then ergo your original conclusion would still stand, but its completely irrelevant to the point in question. Its like expecting the PS4 controllers to be all wired, cos wireless controllers need charging and are more expensive - its a very simplistic conclusion...

Not really. My conclusion included the above 3 points, all contributing factors lol hence why I mentioned them.

Your comparison does not make sense and is not even Comparable. A Controller is not optional, unlike a headset which is.

Why the heck would Sony use a wired connection for voice comms when theyve pretty much embraced BT on the PS3?!?

Because you end up with people buying £2.99 headsets and sounding like they are in a cave, inside the toilet.

Or just don't bother.

Wow just wow, do you realise that the main reason that there is a high uptake of headsets of the 360 platform is because they were given away free, not as you put it because they were wired. To even consider the main contributing factor was it being wired over wireless is stupid.

If MS had supplied free wireless headsets the same prevalent adoption rate would still have occured, its nothing to do with wired vs wireless as you are arguing at all...

Completely agree, whatever happens if a headset isnt given away free, it would make me take a moment in considering the platform, Sony cant be as blase again - to counter to Craterloads point unfortunately a headset really isnt something to consider as optional - your own point about adoption rates this generation proves that :p

Not sure why you're struggling  wireless vs wired is not a point I'm arguing lol

Of coarse the main factor was the fact they were given away for free, mainly because they could because, as I pointed out, they are very cheap compared to wireless ones. Other points are also a factor though, not as great but still a factor. I personally prefer the simplicity of the Xbox design to the system employed by Sony, I find it much more efficient.

And yes a headset is optional, just lessens the experience without depending on the game.

And just to add to your comparison. When you pad runs out if juice you can simply plug in to you console via USB, I've got a nice long cable so doesn't effect play. Or simply change batteries. Headset runs out of juice, tough luck, back in the dock to charge up. Unless you have a model that can be charged by a cable, but then you will have your head tied to a cable and a charging batter dangerously close to you ear/head.

You sure?
Hope they also stick a jack for wired headset in there too unless ms have patented it?
Because wireless ones need charging, are expensive and much more uncomfortable compared to the Xbox ones. One just has too look at the mic adoption rate on both consoles to see which strategy worked out....

I think you missed the original point about you wanting a free headset rather than just a wired one, I actually cant make this much more simpler - Im truly astonished that you havent grasped your own point, then again just having the manufacturers part number for a camera lens defeated you...

Wow, just wow. One of many points which I have mentioned. Seems you still have a bone up your ass over our last conversation, which is probably the reasoning behind you pointless arguing and stupid comparisons that are not even comparable lol seems like someone's holding a grudge :)

Funny thing is my initial post makes no compassion between wired and wireless, just a request for a jack to be included. Somehow you took that as an attack against wireless lol

Any how personally think MS's system is much more efficient proven by adoption rates. I think the option of a jack would be great, especially for them long gaming sessions.

Sorry I just dont suffer fools gladly, especially tenacious ones - trust me on these boards not knowing how to resolve what an item is from a manufacturers part number kinda sticks out like a sore thumb, especially when you then go out of your way screaming fraud :p

I didnt take it as an attack against wireless, more that the fact Sony have dumped wired this generation and dont produce a controller or headset with just a wired connection, to surmise they might go back to wired is where I thought your point was a bit silly.

Suffer fools gladly, lol who do you think you are? You just seem sore and bitter. Over what, I'm not sure. Jesus get over it, was like an age ago. I'm sorry to say but this is a PC forum, if it was a camera forum you would have a point regarding not knowing model numbers of camera lenses jees. And even then a very little one. My stance was proven by the fact an apology was issued and refunds given even after use. But that's probably not good enough for your high standards lol

Anyhow, back to point. It would be a great addition in my opinion, heck you could charge off it once your wireless headsets battery has died.

Damnit Sony, just copy the 360 controller ffs :( really want the first proper 'next gen' console but I get horrible cramps using the tiny playstation controller to the point where I can only play 30-40 mins in a night.

iv not got the smallest of hands and i dont cramp up after 30-40 mins, im guessing your gripping the pad as tightly as you can or using it some other way but iv never had cramps after hours of playing.

as for the pics of the pads with the dev boxes they do look a little chunkier which is a good thing, just have to see what the final versions look like.

Not small hands, exceptionally big hands :p it's just too painful to hold the thumb sticks in their current "both at the bottom" location. because my thumbs have to bend in a right odd way to still be able to reach the other buttons comfortably.

360 Controller is perfect :(

could be a issue with your thumbs or something, id say i have large hands and iv never had an issue with it.
