PS4 and Xbox Rumours

I think people must hold the PS3 pad wrong or something. I have images of people screwing their hands round it then complainining button/stick layout is wrong. Rest it in the base of your fingers and your thumbs will move naturally and easily from stick to buttons.

If i hold it like that I cant reach all of the buttons on the right :(

I think my problem is the fact I (apparently) have short thumbs on a big hand span.

Still, 360 controller fits like a glove so make it so Sony (or a third party at release, please :D )

As long as they redesign the triggers I won't mind what they do, although the stick layout of the 360 is better IMO too but I can't see them copying that.

to surmise they might go back to wired is where I thought your point was a bit silly.

Look who is the fool now ;) guess you will have to suffer yourself gladly

Craterloads

they wont be going back to a fixed wired controller, remember these pictures are of the dev kits so the they wont be the final pad.

as for the extra socket on the it could be a wired headphone jack for the devs only so they dont have to have extra cables running around the office but again why would you bother with it i dont know.

i doubt it will be there at launch as if your using a wired headphone/mic setup you'd be better served using a usb socket than just a jack so could possibly be a min usb port.

controller wont be fixed wired, see no reason why they won't include a audio jack though especially if the controller has sound.

Is it likely the PS4 will be pre-order-able straight after this announcement? I want to get my order in straight away as you can always count on stock shortages.

Not a fan of the ps3 controller as well and it will be a shame if its the same again. I dont feel as in control of a fps game as i do with the 360 pad. I loved playing killlzone but im sure i would have been a better player with another pad.
Will get the console dont get me wrong but it may be an exclusive only machine as i did with the ps3.

im guessing thats more down to people who have only used a pad and never tried a mouse and keyboard before. i have a couple of friends who when i suggested m+k thought i was having a joke.

if you play online multiplayer its the only way to go on proper fps without things like auto aim, or generous hit boxes.

No it's not though, if it was the only way to go then you wouldn't have millions of people playing happily without them. You're making the classic mistake of assuming your view is the only view. Both control schemes are valid (I use both myself)

people can be happy playing on a pad yes, but im just saying if a different pad is that much of a hindrance use the tried and test mouse and keyboard.

but being blunt some of the complaints about the pads are funny, people saying they are getting cramps. or the shoulder buttons are slippy ?!

if your hands are cramping relax a bit and dont try to crush the pad, as for the slippy buttons clean the pad and dont eat food while gaming. never had either problem with any of the playstation pads, or any other pads iv used over the years.

maybe im lucky i dont know but i think a lot of the issues are more to do with the people than the actual pad design.

I have tried keyboard and mouse and to me it's like trying to play the drums, piano and guitar at the same time. I just can't do it. Feels horribly unnatural.

I have a 360 pad for any pc gaming that might arise :D
