The current xbox controller (apart from the dpad) is the best controller I've ever used so that's great news.
I'm glad they are not changing the pad much, it's near perfect (apart from the d-pad).
are dual shock 3's compatible with PS4?
I do hope so, because I have 4 of them sitting here
Nope.
I wouldn't put all your eggs in one basket just yet. As much as I am exited over the PS4 I'm sure Microsoft will deliver something that will compete. Backed by strong exclusives like halo, gears and forza, it will be appealing. Furthermore MS have said zilch, so all this talk about restrictive this and media oriented counts for nothing.
All the rumours so far, of which most have turned out to be true but the next xbox having both a worse CPU (only 6 cores available to devs) and a worse memory system (using DDR3 with 32MB SRAM as a cache)

And a lot of the rumours have also turned out to be incorrect. You would have to be a complete moron to believe one system was superior to the other, when the "other" hasn’t even announced a new system exists....
The place that leaked the PS4 specs was spot on, why would they suddenly leak a ton of false information regarding Xbox?
I honestly don't think Microsoft is going to have specs that are equal/better than PS4.
I won't pre-order either, it's a sure fire way to get burned by high prices when there's very little in the way of must have games around.
I'm gonna keep my "special editions" Wii and Xbox 360 and get a PS4.
I'm going to skip the next Xbox as its gonna be too home hub/media centre orientated for a games machine. Even then the media centre stuff will have huge restrictions
How true this is is yet to be seen BUT if it is, i cant wait.

Id trust an Aprils Fools before Id trust the Gadget Show reporting a Sun made-up story, though I did hear that MS are giving up on the nextbox after seeing the PS4 reveal...Although this is all speculation from The Sun at this point
Either way until Microsoft announce their next system and then detail the specs it's pretty pointless making comparisons. What you think or don't thing regarding the nextbox means little if nothing at all.
If you preorder the PS4 because you prefer the Eco system, or the exclusive games, or any other genuine reason then fine. If you preorder because you think it is going to be technically superior to an unannounced machine then you might as well sign up to be the next mystic meg.
