PSVR launching October @ £349

PSVR runs at 60fps whereas the Rift & Vive run at 90fps, which is why the PS4 can get away with having less gpu grunt than a 970.

Hang on, I saw an official spec sheet that listed 90 and 120Hz refresh rates for the PSVR - Why would they have such high refresh rates if the FPS was maxed at 60??

In fact, PSVR was listed as the only headset that offered 120Hz refresh as Oculus and Vive are at 90Hz

From what I've read PSVR does some form of reprojection to hit 120hz refresh.

Sure it said that games can run at either 45 or 60 fps, which is then reprojected to a 90 or 120hz refresh.

I'll see if I can dig the article up.

Options for native 120hz or 60 reprojected im sure of that, But image the gfx on a 120fps VR game on a PS4! Ok Minecraft VR? That is about it really.

i think its great as we just starting out in VR the more games the better right? get them ideas going!
cool stuff

will this work on PS4 only or will it be able to connect to the pc as its so much cheaper than the other offerings!

Sony are apparently considering PC support, so we'll need to wait & see.

If Sony did decide to support the PC through, say, SteamVR, then I'd be very concerned if I was either Oculus or HTC.

One other option is OSVR as it's even cheaper than PSVR, but it is still very much a dev kit so requires quite a bit of mucking around to get it working.

we should see more finished games on PSVR, all i see on vive right now is a lot of demos, tho id like to see them do a VR version of a shark game like depth, that would be awesome and terrifying :)

i personally think the sit down games is the way to go right now or its very niche ><

Decided to go for psvr and I can't wait. Surprised there's not more interest here for it. I've never had a chance to try vr so I'm going in blind but so excited!

Does anyone know if Alien isolation will be updated to support full vr? I'm sure it was the demo material when psvr was first announced.

I'm hoping that the PSVR is compatible with the PC. Doesn't matter if it's better or worse, the key point is that it's highly likely to drive down prices.

Here's one for you all. Will R* update Gta V to work with psvr? I know I know the ps4 is not capable hardware to run it at decent fps in vr but the ps4pro should be. Would R* do it even if it was just exclusive to the pro?.

Robinson the journey looks great and runs on psvr so why not gta v and alien isolation etc.

I really do hope most of my current games are not just limited to Cinematic mode.
