QLED vs OLED

Just my little note, I bought a Panasonic TX-55EZ952B OLED on the weekend which I use mainly for gaming. I narrowed it down to that and the LG but after spending hours in the shop playing with picture settings etc I found I preferred the Panasonic (it's used mainly as my gaming TV).

Anyway, I was a little concerned by people saying the OLED are not bright enough but I've now used it in all sorts of environments and it's incredibly bright, think it would burn your eyes out if it was any brighter! and I like that fact that the the picture looks good no matter what the lighting conditions are.

Just changed my C7's picture settings as advised on this Youtube channel and have to say it now the picture looks superb. The person in the video is a professional ISF Calibrator.

Mate there is no point using someone else’s IRE grayscale and colour settings as every panel is different and it’s more likely that you have thrown the ire grayscale and colours out drastically, using the published settings of oled light, contrast and brightness are the same across the board but not IRE colour.
Have a look how different the calibration settings are between AVforums, AVF Fourms(us site) ,HDTV test, flatpanels and RTings. The IRE setting varies massively even though the panels and processors are the same in the whole LG range and all the above use the same calibration process and same equipment.

A good staring point is oled light 48, contrast 82, brightness 51, gamma BT1886 and colour gamut auto.
Another way to go is all the above settings but change oled light 100 and contrast 46 which gives you the same bight picture but bypasses the ABL

Correct it's ok to use the standard picture settings, colour, contrast, colour temp, sharpness. But I would not use any of the advanced controls, R/G/B colour decoder, CMYK etc as each set is differerent.

Is the E7 any good compared to the other LG oleds??

1500 is a good price so am tempted to jump for it but not sure if the E7 is a lower model compared to the other models they have in their range.

Image quality they are all identical.

The range goes up alphabetically, so E7 supposed to be better than C7 etc

In reality the only differences in the whole range are the bezel, stand and speakers.
