Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

I decided to go to the funeral (for those who remember, I also queued for 9 hours on Wednesday night from 8pm to visit the Queen) and I stood 2 rows from the front by Downing Street. The people in front of me had been there since 1am and one couple had come directly from the Lying in State and then just queued from 3am or so.

I have a lot of high resolution videos which I can share, where should I upload them to though? Maybe a Google Drive?

The atmosphere was so surreal...I arrived at 8am and it was heaving so people were just trying to find the right angles to get a view. I was lucky with mine perhaps. It was so special when it went totally silent and the ceremony was played over speakers. There were soldiers preparing in front throughout the ceremony.

I wonder how often royals have health checks. I know Elizabeths father had cancer but i don't recall any others having it/other major diseases.

The Queen Mother has both colon and breast cancer but it was not announced until after she passed.

I’m sure they get checked fairly regularly as they get older. They have their own doctors so can’t see why they would be out to use.

Spare a thought for poor Phil and Holly. It must be devestating for them.

This Morning bosses are said to be worried that Holly Willoughby could leave the show after she faced a fierce backlash for 'skipping the queue' to see the Queen lie in state in Westminster Hall.

The presenter, 41, and her co-star Phillip Schofield, 60, addressed the issue on Tuesday's episode of their ITV show, saying that they 'understand the reaction' from the public but insisting that they did not skip the queue as they entered the hall in the press queue on work matters.

MailOnline understands that the pair personally insisted that it be addressed at the start of the show and believe ITV should not have waited so long to speak out on the matter - spending the weekend 'locked in talks' with TV producers.

A source revealed: 'Philip and Holly are dumbstruck at the level of anger they've received in the past few days. They felt ITV should have made it clearer, right away, that it was part of a broadcast.'

Among those who waited their turn in the queue, which was dubbed the 'Elizabeth Line', were David Beckham and even Holly and Phil's ITV colleague Susanna Reid, from Good Morning Britain.

After the claims emerged, a petition demanding that Holly and Phil be sacked from ITV quickly garnered thousands of signatures. More than 15,000 people have now signed it.

fake outrage ? someone watched all the live broadcast from westminster hall with face recognition software.

youtube - watched beneath whilst confirming the BBC had only used HD cameras - must be a market for good 4k material. (maybe bonus for Meghan content)

This country is becoming more and more ridiculous as each day passes. I'm a bit lost for words.

I'd love to know how many of those 15,000 actually went to the Abbey.

Honestly, who the hell cares what queue they used.

I'm not sure what a giveaway on daytime TV has to do with Queen Elizabeth II.

Well, like, the wheel thingy was glittery, and the Queen liked sparkly stuff. II, erm, well, there are two presenters.

As for the Elizabeth part, I'm sure one of the production team is called Liz. How's that?

One thing i kept looking at all the time in the funeral was how many of them were wearing lots of medals and i wanted to know what each of the medals was for

That would be a very long post, but in a nutshell medals generally fall into various categories: medals for service, medals for active campaign service, decorations for gallantry, MBE’s etc.

To give you a simple example, here’s my collection:

From left to right:
Campaign medal for Operation Telic : 30 days continual service in Iraq during the 2003-2009 Iraq conflict
Operational Service medal for Afghanistan: 30 days service in Afghanistan
Operational Service medal for Iraq and Syria: 30 days service in the operation against ISIS, with clasp for service in Iraq or Syria
Queens Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals: 5 years service in the day of each jubilee
RAF Long Service and Good Conduct medal: 15 years service without any serious disciplinary issues

You can find out about every medal that can be awarded here:
…and understand why holders of the Victoria or George cross are held in such high regard.

I expect they figured the number of viewers would be beyond what their systems could cope with streaming at 4K
