Quest 3 owners etc

Some nice updates. I hope the passthrough really is an upgrade. I always feel like mine is blurry/pixely compared to videos I see of others playing..
Ah, afaik passthrough will always look better in videos because the Quest 3 cameras don't actually record the passthrough image. I've been quite impressed with how it's improved since the 1st iterations, hopefully it'll continue to improve :)

I'm hoping that 16:9 aspect ratio for screenshots and photos has made it to the final build of V71.

It's currently working nicely in v71 PTC and the photo resolution is 3840 x 2160. Bizarrely the video resolution is only 1920 x 1080, so I'm still using the Ocular Migraine app to capture hi res video.

Not sure which thread to post this

But has there been any details released of what the specs will be of the Quest 4 at all ?
And is normally around every 3 years they release a new quest headset ?

Edit: From google it looks like the first Quest headset was only out for about a year before the Quest 2 came out.

At least that should look good for photos, if it is retained in the final release. I had not tried to capture video, so resolution and bitrate settings, from the headset, are unknown to me. Has it always been 1080p..?

Yeah, the video has always been 1080p and it was square format until not too long ago.

Thanks i downloaded this trailer :)

But how do i transfer it to my Q3 ? or should i of downloaded it from that link on my Q3 ?

Have the headset on and in passthrough mode, connect the headset to the PC and you'll get a popup notification in the headset to allows USB connections. Go to the notification bell icon and click on the USB notification.
Open up file explorer and put the video file here My Computer\Quest 3\Internal shared storage\Oculus\VideoShots

Is this using air link at all ? As i couldn’t get air link working due having a problem with the software on my PC so i use virtual desktop instead

Or is this using a USB cable from the headset to the PC

think of the quest 3 as an android mobile phone.
when you connect the headset and desktop/laptop with a direct usb-c to usb-c/a cable you can access the file system of the headset from "My Computer"
edit : when connected you get a notification in the headset notifications to allow access
