R9 290X Owners Thread

:D
Just to clear out - I fixed the fan speed per MSI Afterburner. If I only set a maximum fan speed of 100% in CCC, the fan will stay at maximum ~22% during heavy load which results in the black screens.
Fixing the fan of the Arctic Hybrid to 100% via Afterburner seems to completely solve the issue.

Like I said at G3D: I really hope for all of us to get the issue fixed without having to deal with such compromise as fixing fan-RPM etc. :(

Sorry, Euda - i misread your instructions.

Right, well i will try afterburner when i get home and report back.

managed to get mine @1180/1400 +100mv, do wish we had a little bit more voltage to play with to get it to 1200 though.

As for the memory, if what that Unwinder guy said over on Guru3d about the 290/x not having adjustable memory voltage, i'll be gutted, seems to be loads left to give but need a touch more voltage.

My card is underwater and was waiting for afterburner to release a patch to allow voltage tuning before having a go at it.

what have peoples results been so far in terms of moderate clocks?

I am only running 1080p, so the overclock is mainly to justify the 540 of radiators in my loop, which seem to be for display while the card is at stock.

Argh i even get a crash at 100% fan speed. It honestly sounded louder than my hoover, and it scared the life out of one of the cats :)
The weird thing is, like almost every other time (and as other people report) a single crash followed by a hard reset = a long period of stability after the next reboot. So very weird. It was benching in Metro for 2 hours after the crash, and i stopped it to write this post.

Insanity.

Need to manage the cables then clean the external radiator and then fill the loop and test for 12 hours (3 hours max :D)

This is exactly what I am experiencing.

And again just over 10mins in BF4, black screen and computer lockup, lets see what this latest hard reset lets me keep going for.

Black screens are a pain in the ass, and its ****ing me the frak off.

I wish AMD would say SOMETHING... Like "We're working on a new driver" or some ****.

My 290x arrives today, upgrade from my GTX 580.

As for AMD I suspect you'll be waiting for a little while to get an answer, there really isn't much that any company would say until they've got some proper information and that is if they say anything at all.
