Racing Simulators

C Class, and i race in the Rookies lol, such a noob i am lol, might try the skippy out at some point, as the V8SC i love is an absolute pig to drive at full pace for more than 1 lap lol.

Remember you get discounts for buying 3 or 6 items at once (or all of them for a 25% discount, don't think you're considering that yet :p) so personally I'd go for:

Skip Barber
Watkins Glen
Road America

Not sure on prices but iirc cars are ~$12, tracks ~$12-15, so at most that'd be what ~$38 after discount, about £25? and will last you the next 3 weeks (next week is Lime Rock so you've already got that)

Or go all out and get Skippy, Watkins Glen, Road America, Road Atlanta, Zandvoort and <one other item> to get the rest of the skippy season, and another track/car, and picking up the 20% discount for 6 items \o/

Ahh bugger i always forget that, no wonder it costs me more lol, in that case totally ignore what i suggested.

Yes, basically, a D 4.0 is the equivalent of a C 3.0, and an A 4.0 is the equivalent of a D 7.0, that's why you lose more SR as you go up through the classes.

Give or take yes, obviously not a hard rule as it's just based on the new calculation, you may be high enough above 4.00 to not get the 'punishment' for going over the boundary and end up still above B4.00 ready for A Class :p

Just done one of the charity events, bit silly really as I hadn't driven the MX-5 for about 2 months, and never driven it around LRP, or have a setup, or even thought about it until 18:58 but hey, came 6th overall (rated 6th by iRating), long old race though.

Somebody came across the Italian though :p

Hey that Italian was a nutter, i made a mistake on lap 4, spining out, got back to whatever it was, i was clearly ahead after his mistake on the corner, but HE failed to let off after i had cleared his car to slot into the racing line, plus the replay showed that perfectly :( sooo gutted, but it wasnt all bad.

I watched the replay, imo it was 50/50, yes you were ahead but not completely, on the other hand he was also moving towards the right for some unknown reason.

But you've got a point, he was far enough behind that barring a huge mistake by you at the next corner he had lost the place, would've been far better to lift off and let you have the place, but then those things happen....

No chance of me ever getting a promotion because all I do is ****ing run off the track by 3mm and get constant 'incidents'. Stupid bloody game!

Hint, avoid the places where it's 'easy' to get off-tracks :p

Some corners are particularly easy to get, my main irritation is ones where you push a little bit too hard, go up onto the kerbing with the one side slightly over, still no off-track until the kerbing ends :@ :p but it's also fairly easy to work out in practice where those are and just make sure that on a general lap you don't go over them, that might be making it sound easier than it is but hey :p

Aye, there was no way i was letting off, i was closing him pretty swiftly, i did lift slightly, but noticed he stayed left so i went right, next thing i know i can see his car in the mirrors, thought he had done the 'sensible' thing and lifted slighlty to let me in, and wham. On the replay my car is pretty much ahead, to the point he can see my rear from the cockpit, so ill never know - im just thankful i didnt take anyone else out with it.

Yeah, you were basically ahead, but still a few inches, that's all it takes :p

Just did the Thompson street stock race, 40 laps, 24 under caution \o/ on the plus side started 9th, came 2nd (but with 6 incidents dropped 0.11SR :()

I know :( oh well, and i was spectating that race, what a total mess by the fools at the back, interesting race, glad i dont like racing the ovals id be rage quiting every race lol.

Yeah, didn't see any of it except the n00b who divebombed me (and ended up spinning himself to bring out a caution :p) but I was shocked when the caution came out the first time, generally on short tracks you don't get that, one of the reasons I like the late model/sk races, much shorter and a nicely determined length, rather than 'could be 45 mins, could be 90 mins' :p

Generally made a position up on each restart which was fun :)

thinks I might put the steering wheel away today. First race in the skip was in third with three laps to go I plow it into the wall and then tried a legends race got up to second and for some reason I lost around the bend and plowed into a wall :( pretty unusual for me so I guess its not my day

Yeah, I have days like that, it's horrible when you keep trying and it keeps going horribly wrong, I've learnt to give up quickly :p

That Sebring mod looks great.

Does anyone know have an idea of the recommended spec rFactor2 will run on? I'm guessing quad core, 2GB Ram, 1Gb GPU? Sims tend not to be so demanding on the graphics side do they? I'm thinking of buying a pc soon but idealy want to wait unitll later in the year for rFactor2, F1 2011 plus BF3 and Red Orchestra 2 for my shooter fix.
