Racing Simulators

He was deffo ramming you! If had gone into a tank slapper he would have gone into the gravel way before the line!

I understand it to be more of a motorcycling term (i.e. the fuel tank location!), but I think it's where you lose the rear and then over-correct, then again etc until you get straight and facing the right way.

Should I have protested it?

He seemed alright. I thought it was just one of those things, we kind of collided together, or do you think he rammed me?

imo yes, that was definitely intentional, one tap I could call 'one of those things' but the 2/3 after that were him trying to stop you getting past, assuming you've still got the replay then have a look at Section 8 (iirc) of the sporting code and send an email to Nim,

I'd imagine he won't be banned/suspended but just a word saying that's unacceptable will hopefully make him think more next time...

Press the little toolkit icon at the bottom, then you can cut the replay with the scissors.

From my experience, the protest system is absolutely useless in iRacing, it's never worth the bother actually sending a protest. Unless they swear, though, then they get perma-banned. Obviously swearing is worse than wrecking, cheating or exploiting in iRacing.

On a completely separate subject, what would be involved in hosting our own OCUK night?

Does it cost money to hold a hosted event/race. We've probably got enough for a full grid.

Thoughts?

Yeah it's $3 to host a session, and you can obviously put a password on it. Can have something like 40+ cars on the one grid (60 at spa), which is pretty cool.

Would probably be a good idea to do it in something like the MX5, possibly at somewhere like Spa (almost everyone will have bought Spa, surely?).

$3 is nothing, at all. Think of it like another sim, say LFS, to have a private race you have to buy a server, not exactly out of the ordinary. Anyway, next season they are bringing in bulk discounts for leagues, so it will cost next to nothing.

Sorry, I thought it was $3 each!

I'd be really up for an OcUK. Proper thing with qualifiers and a long race :)
We'd need to work out who owns what though to get as many people as possible involved.

No you dont.

Well, you can host a server yourself, but any more than 10 or so people and it's so laggy it's not worth bothering with. Here, you can rent a 60 man server for $3, it's not exactly breaking the bank, especially when people take turns to host.
