Racing Simulators

I generally don't bother with splits etc, I used to with iSpeed before the in-game splits, but I found that whilst it was great for going for ultimate lap times it was unhelpful for races/qualifying as I'd be constantly pushing to gain time, I generally go just as quick but more consistent if I just forget about times and go for a lap, which is kinda odd...

I also found that without looking at splits I was going for lines that may not be the absolute quickest (we're talking tiny sub-tenth differences though) but that are 'easier' for me to hold, some of the ultimate quickest lines are borderline as to whether I'll make it out the otherside or not :p

Totally agree. I wont race without it open now. I have it set to compare my current lap time to my PB with Audio output (Voice) to tell me during a race.

A bad T1 on Watkins Glenn can cost you .500 by the time you get to T5. I Didn't realise until I compared my lap with someone else's

Wow, I figured it'd cost you a fair bit of time since it leads onto a long straight but I didn't think it would cost you that much.

Back to square one again tomorrow! At least I know the course but I've never raced it in a Skip. I'll probably try a few hot laps tonight and maybe post a replay for some criticism.

Good week for the Nationwide as well. Daytona will be a great chance to see how the new tyre and aero model will affect restrictor plate racing.

I'm the opposite. I find it easier if I have a something to compare to. I can't use the in-game timing thing though. I find it to distracting.

Found and added you!
I can't see you. Can you send me a PM in iRacing so I can add you?

Heads up guys.

Even if you dont want to drive this car its worth rading through Eriks thread as theres great track guids and lately he has made some youtube videos guids that will come in handy when you get those tracks.

keep trying to get a lap in the practice session but the graphics stops rendering every 60 seconds or so for about three or four seconds (literally) though the sound/ffb/game and so on continues. Any ideas?

okay, i'll give that a go. i'm looking at the temps of everything and nothings abnormally high either.

EDIT: Nope i'm watching the temps in the overlay and once again it's randomly slowed to 0.5 fps.

Just spent 15 minutes on there (matt clegg) which was good. Some nice lap times from you guys on there. I personally struggled to get a full lap in right until the end where I was 3-4 seconds off the pace. BUT I've only been playing properly for 3 weeks or so.

edit: This is why I was off the pace! (taken in a practice session).

If you are running an Nvidia card there have been some issues with the newer betas. It did it for me. Going to the WHQL's fixed it for me and many others :)

Cheers for hosting, was impressed by the 58.0 in practice, couldn't match that all through practice and qualifying but was edging closer, then got a 58.082 during the first few laps of the race, crashed whilst trying to go quicker still and after resetting got into the 57's, which I think is a new PB :)

I saved the replay if anyone wants to see, there's a few mistakes but the first corner or two and the last 2 are probably as good as I can get (admittedly the last one is just flat which I can do regularly :p):

Possibly drivers as mentioned or might be worth contacting [email protected], not had any problems myself but heard they're fairly good at sorting things out so might have some ideas?
