Rafa deserves the chance to overachieve with Liverpool again

Good OP.

Let's put things into perspective .. they're not exactly struggling for survival in the bottom 5. They are still in the top 10 and in the Europa League. Most clubs go through a **** season at some point or another for many reason. I say let him serve his contract.. I'm not sure what the club would achieve by parting company. In fact it it only prove to be detrimental. A new manager would make changes significant enough that could take take years to establish a team. Wasn't Ferguson on the brink of a sacking before winning the FA cup against Palace.. ?

Rafa bought his time by winning the CL. He and the club knows this.

Anyone know how much Villa and Spurs have spent in the time Rafa has being at Liverpool?

Rafa has spent £229 million as of October 09 according to the internets.
Rough calculations say O'Neill has spent about £90m at Villa, though he's only been there since 2006, whereas Benitez join 'Pool in 2004.

Needs to go imo, Im not one for blaming managers as i think it can be un-fair but in this case mostly it is.

Squad depth isnt their. He has spent a small fortune and most of the players he has bought have been duds or sold back to the prev club for less (Keane for example), For the amount of time he has been their he has no excuse not to have better squad.

This i think is a mixed bag imo he brings back players from injury too soon but the medical team shouldnt allow it either numerous times we have seen Gerrard/Torres seem to play when they look like they can barely manage a jog. Looking back few weeks ago informed Torres was playing on a few knocks im sorry as much as we need him his health and any other players health is more important, The player should be sorted then brought back not play through it and potentionally make it worse.

Player Managemeant imo from what we can tell isnt good, Keeps saying they play with character well im sorry all our players look lost and out of hope all together.

You cant compare the two, Ferguson took a side lingering near the bottom of the league with a team full of unfit heavy drinkers, that had not won the league since 1967, that had only a cup double to show in 83 since 1977.
He took them to second place in his first full year.

Benitez has taken control of an established top 4 side and they are still an established top four side.

This isnt Spurs, or Arsenal or Villa we are talking about, this is LIVERPOOL and I know its hard to accept, but liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world, certainly one of the most successful ........... and Benitez either doesnt understand the significance of the job he has, or lacks the ability to do the job but liverpool should be in around winning the league, FA cup and Champions league each and every year, not one in every 6.

Rafa, would have the ability to spend more as we have consistently finished in the latter stages of the CL. Rafa's net spend has been much less. That said, I dont like the way he has used the money as an excuse.

The article in the OP refers to Spurs being a financially sucessful club, thing is, i just cannot understand how? they spend a lot of money on players, they havent really had any sucess in god know how long, so where is the revenue coming from?

Spurs have a large and very rich fanbase. Spurs' only sustained period of success (early 60s) came at a time when the baby boomers were growing up. A lot of them decided to support Spurs and have done ever since. Sprus' stadium might be only 36,000 but it's full for every single game and there's currently a 22,000-strong waiting list for season tickets.

And although Spurs have spent a lot on players, they've also recouped a lot of money. Berbatov and Carrick to Manchester United is worth £50mil alone. Selling Keane for £20mil and then rebuying him for £11mil doesn't harm things either. Defoe was effectively re-signed from Portsmouth for free as well.

If you look at Spurs' best XI, it probably cost in the region of £72mil. Not a ridiculous sum of money for a currently top 4 side.

Spurs are owned by a billionaire but are profitable. I'm guessing that his wealth allows Spurs to secure lending at a favourable rate.

Levi must be a genious tbh, making money out of nowt in essence. No CL money and no money from finishing in the top 4, but still turning a profit, he must really run the club tightly.

I think the majority of top players would rather join Barca,Madrid,Inter,Milan and Man Utd and others, this is the problem Liverpool have and consdering they don't have much money it makes it harder to compete with the big boys, regardless if Benitez is the manager or not.

lolwut?

You do realise that Arsenal are also one of the biggest clubs in the world?

Well, they arent its not like there are millions of league clubs and so 20 to 30 can be "the biggest in the world"
There are a couple of thousand of which 7 or 8 are the biggest in the world.

And Arsenal are not part of them.

Whoever made it is a retard :)

edit: Here's a list of all the players signed by Benitez, including youth players signed:

http://www.lfchistory.net/stats_tra...list=Get&manager_id=20&InOut=1&submit1=Submit

* Note. LFChistory does not include players that have been released by LFC at end of season, who didn't feature in their manager's plans to some extent. Some players on the list joined the clubs listed straight after their contract at Liverpool expired, like Pegguy Arphexad.

???
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-players-signed-Liverpool-managers-reign.html

according to this article LFC history is missing 20 players off that list HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?

Even that list doesnt have Maximiliano Rubén "Maxi" Rodríguez in it
