Raptor Lake Leaks + Intel 4 developments

unknown.png

People only ever look at the 1% high power draw and never what it will acutally consume during games.

Practically identical power consumption to 7950X in games. 13900K is cheaper and also much faster. 13900k is clearly the winner when it comes to games, which is what the vast majority buy these CPU's for, in my experience.

@Grim5 - Should have waited!

Don't focus on the power unlimited results, those are irrelevant. Check the stock 253w results, computerbase gets 38k while tpup gets 32k. The difference is just huge

The score is 2k higher than most others and 3k higher than some. Suggests they are doing a very short test run instead of the 10 minute run.

EDIT: Which further suggests that in the short run the CPU is boosting / drawing more power so is it really pulling 253w sustained or is it pulling more then dropping down to 253w?

It's amazing cause Intel only had 1 year from the release of alderlake to catch up to 2 years worth of progress on AMD's part, and on top of that with a die shrink. Don't know man, if you don't find that progress amazing I don't know what to tell you, it probably has never happened EVER before in the history of anything computer related, including gpus.

I couldnt care less with what either have done with progress all I care is what both have for sale right now and I see AMD is more efficent thats not to say what intel has is poor but for productivity they just suck up more power , you boast about such progress in short period but still behind in efficiency so I couldnt care whatever progress they made

he can do drop in CPU upgrade with 70003d which imo should give best gaming peformance judging what was done with 58003d

you always seem to buy the best so if 70003d is the best for gaming when it gets released will you be buying one , as the intel platform is dead now

Are you sure there was a die shrink ? All the websites are saying it's the same as Alderlake, Intel 7 process (10nm)

Well, I don't really see it, but my outlook is just on getting a 7700k and waiting for the X3D perhaps I'll just wait for the new year no rush.

I am starting to lean the same way and this is coming form someone using a 12700K clocked 5GHz with e-waste cores disabled. I think I will bite the bullet get Ryzen 7 7700X and a higher quality B650E board and then drop in X3D when it comes. If only it was out now darn. Or perhaps a 7950X and wait for X3D.

the newer ones you will probably end up disabling more e cores lol

Most others are 38-39k with unlimited power and techspot use a 10 minute loop. The high 41k score is an outlier possibly explained by ending the benchmark after 1 minute instead of letting it run for all 10.

Techpowerup is low but if the numbers are based on using a Noctua NH-U14S then it could be down to throttling.

No, guru3d / hwcanucks / club386 / computerbase get 38 to 39k at stock 253w, not with unlimited power.

gaming performance here does look impressive and power used i think its the boards used some are unlocked limits etc so results are random , just productivity its not as good

@Dave2150 You liked this table but you do realise it shows that on average teh 7950X consumes less power then the 13900K in games.
