Raptor Lake Leaks + Intel 4 developments

Awesome news. Now, about the price? :)

Just wondering if it's worth buying these on an AM5 system, wonder if the 7200 MT/s kits will ever be supported on current x670 boards?
It'll be supported but there isn't any benefit.

Possibly be more useful in the next Ryzen chips assuming they have better memory controllers/have faster infinity fabric.

Not seeing the 7200Mhz kits on any ASUS QVL lists yet, though I've not checked all models.

My advice to anyone considering one of these kits is to only buy if you see it on the QVL list, else you're running the risk of it just not working and or having to spend lots of time amending the secondary or tertiary timings to get it to work.

So, 12700 vs 13600k if not overclocking? Would love a 13700 but I don't want to wait another 4 months and it'll be even more expensive. Mostly for gaming

13700 all core boost is just over 5ghz. Probably worth the wait.

The 13700f should cost $314 + vat, same as the 12700f on launch.

Yes, 4 sticks of DDR4 already and a B660 board in mind.

Eek, I'm running a skylake system now so was planning on upgrading in the next couple of months!
Buy a super cheap LGA1700 stop gap CPU in the meantime I suppose? then sell it later

Intel Celeron G6900 only costs £40

Why recommendations to get the KF variant? I'd prefer to pay £20 more for the K just for troubleshooting if my GPU died or something. I see no difference in performance.

How much do you think the KS will be? 6Hz out of the box, wouldn't that be nice. Release before Xmas?

The chips that are being sold doing 6ghz out of the box are a limited run in Q1 next year.

Is anyone thinking about upgrading from a 12700k to say 13700k using the Z690 platform?

I'm tempted since it will be a drop in upgrade provided i update the bios.

might wanna wait for 3rd party reviews and if you just game and higher than 1080p will be surprised if you notice the difference while playing its a refresh not worth the upgrade imo when you already on AL

Not that anyone will notice. Who in their right mind upgrades form a 12700K to a £500 13700K for a small speed bump and some extra cache, oh 4 extra e-cores.
Extra ecores, extra frequency, extra cache. Bigger upgrade than amd gives usually, dont you think, since the number of cores are steady between zen models.

so whats that gonna translate in gaming ? when the 12700k is already high and playing above 1080p ? you just made post on AMD thread hardly worth the upgrade lol

maybe needs it for productivity dont see the point just for gaming
