RC cars

Talking about tough buggies, I've got a thunder tiger eb4 with every upgrade possible that I was given when we used to own 3araceway. That thing has taken abuse, jumped over a caravan to land flat on concrete. Jumped off of things that you wouldn't think is possible to get up there and raced a lot! It's still going strong, not that it's been used in about 5 years! With its Os engine still going.. Just!

My dad has one of them twin engine giga crushers, that is mad and unbelievably quick.

How can you not love the sound of this :D

*edit* 3 tanks through the Carnage, 2 to go. I should do these tomorrow.

How do people clean their cars when its covered in mud etc??

very carefully or buy a waterproof RC car in teh first place :P
Tehcnically you can water proof yourself with condoms over the electric speed control etc or theres this liquid you can buy corrosion X ?!?!? I think it's called

I cleaned it up with a paint brush and some canned air. Looked almost new in the end.

Then took the Carnage out to finish breaking in the engine and it happened. On the 4th tank I misjudged the turning and smacked into the curb. I now have to replace the front suspension arm :(

Only a few quid to replace so should be up and running at the weekend.

I fixed the suspension arm and took it out to finish the breaking in procedure. Now have issues with the electrics. Brakes dont always work and steering is sometimes the wrong way, ie turn left and it goes right

I dont know if its something ive done, but Im quickly losing patience in this car :(

what radio gear do you have?

the basic brushed motors don't make any interesting noises but the higher speed brushless motors can sound like they mean business, can be quite loud aswell, I quite like hearing the drivetrain and tyre noises in the mix aswell.

This video of my 1/10 buggy has some interesting noises!, on the high speed runs the motor really gets worked. Including a loose pinion at the end lol.

The electrics in my Carnage are getting really bad now. So bad that I have no confidence in driving it. Ive only managed 4 tanks of fuel in the running in.

The place where I got it from is sending me a new radio set which hopefully will fix it.

New radio set arrived and it seemed ok. I took the car to work for a run and within a few minutes I had problems again with brakes not working - pushing the trigger up on the tx does nothing).

Im thinking a new servo, but before I order one does anyone have a suggestion??

Seriously thinking of binning this thing. I cant return it as I broke & repaired it :(

Wifes present to me for acing and completing my first year at Uni - WLToys A959 - pretty rapid for a 1/18th.

Yes, it's a kids RC car. Yes, she knows me so well smile :D

Hopefully this is the right place! I have a Tamiya Mad Bull I built with my Dad years and years ago (thinking 8/9) - not used it in ages as I just dont know where to take it locally other than just blasting it up and down the country lanes - any suggestions?

I am in the middle of converting my Hyper 7 Black to brushless, got all the bits and stripped and cleaned the car, now to start cutting and fitting :)

Blimey, Hyper 7's. They came out when we first started racing!

I have been out of racing for a long time now and a couple of weeks ago I went to a 1/10th indoor event and had a little go, made me grab all the cars out of the loft 1/10th and 1/8th. And get it all working, bought some brushless stuff for my touring car and got the old KO out. Went to an event and it was great fun.

Wish we could open the 1/8th rally track we used to have :(

They have been out a while but it's a solid 1/8th car, got a few others all electric for my boys to use.
