I've seen various calculators for converting brushed to KV - but they often provide diffferent results to each other. I've not read up on it enough to really understand why. I think they'd probably work as a reasonable guideline though.
That's tricky - there's no exact conversion possible, many of the conversion charts availble are very old as well which doesn't help as brushless motors have improved massively in the last 10 years. Thanks for thisLooks ideal. One question, do you know if its possible to estimate turns on a brushed to KV?
That looks fine for a NiMHAny good with adaptor ?

Lipo i think at this time i will give a missThat looks fine for a NiMH
I'd go for a Lipo if you can - they are much lighter, and availble in packs with rounded corners if thats all that will fit in your car. E.g: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/produc...8JC2WmSCt14a50di0ibvz2Bm4k6LJLqRoCyHIQAvD_BwE
Servos can be a bit hit and miss - this is the cheapest one I recommend: https://www.racing-cars.com/radio-gear/servos/core-rc-9016mg-servo-9kg-16-sec-cr494Lipo i think at this time i will give a miss
Will the cheapest 6kg servo do ?
Thanks again, much appreciatedThat's tricky - there's no exact conversion possible, many of the conversion charts availble are very old as well which doesn't help as brushless motors have improved massively in the last 10 years.
Old info but Novak (before they closed down) used to say their 3300KV motor was equivalent to a 13.5 brushed modified motor, and 4400KV was around about a 10T.
Confusingly - sensored brushless motor are also sold with Turn rating rather than KV ratings. Hobbywings latest competition 6.5T motor is about 5200KV, the 7.5T version of the same motor is 4400KV....
So it's anyone's guess really!

Anything from this page would be more than good enough: https://www.rcbearings.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1748
Edit: Make sure you have a JIS screwdriver rather than a regular Phillips when assembling Tamiya cars without hex screws - or its easy to strip the heads
cheaper than HobbyKing? For LiPo’s Amazon are far cheaper. I have a nice selection of Hoovo packs and they are really good and last well.
I had a quick go with the Vorza on 6s today. It’s far too much power even with the throttle rate turned down. 4s is a much better drive.
Yeah I know they're bomb proof. I've driven a mate's and wasn't super blown away by the way it drove compared to my Maverick though - it wasn't bad by any means, I just expected more compared to what I had. The brake was really snappy too and apparently you can't change the braking on the ESC. But I guess even if that is the case I'd get used to it eventually.MT10 is a superb car mine has been well and truly bashed and is still going strong.
