RC cars

Got my 8 year old a FTX Tracer 1/16th Truggy for xmas.
Wanted something that can take a beating and if it does break has cheap replaceable parts.

Have to say i was pleasantly surprised at its range and speed.
Did you get the brushless one? It's a fast little thing!Just needs damped shocks, not a huge spend to upgrade to them.

Anyone in here in the Leicestershire area, I'm near Loughborough and have a load of old TT02 stuff I don't want as I haven't used it in years, I'd rather it go to someone on here that'll get use from it rather than it just sit in the garage.

I'd put that Tamico limited Edition Dancing Rider straight in the loft as I've already seen some go for silly money - leave it there for a couple of years and get a nice payday in the future (assuming it's unbuilt)

It’s unbuilt but I have opened it to have a look. I was looking forward to building it tbh…..lol

Recently purchased the Hobbywing XeRun XD10 PRO Drift Sensored Brushless ESC however, the connection bullets require soldering before being connected to the motor. So I've just ordered a decent soldering station but can anyone recommend a decent solder to use, any tips or tricks to do a decent job?

The Savage Flux XS is a mental little car. It leaves my MT-10 for dust with a 3S installed. It's a bit of a handful at times and likes to flip in every direction but when you get it going it is silly quick.

Really liking the Rlarrlo buggy too it's well made and drives really nice.

Just listed it in the MM. I'm not into keeping things really and just don't have the time to build it.

Nice delivery just came… I don’t know where to start…..lol

Without being rude, did you buy them all or win them as i saw a similar bundle as a prize on a YT channel just before Xmas.

Edit: just read the previous page, which answered that comment. Pretty jealous, had a HPI Savage when i was younger, always wanted one of the Battery powered ones.

I used to do a bit of racing a Hillingdon. I was really quite bad and not great at building cars. Needless to say when was beaten by 10 year old and came last in every race a gave it up.

Can take a lot of time to get good, and you need to race pretty often when first starting out. How long did you keep it up for?

Age makes a big difference too - kids can pick it up a lot quicker, but can tend to lack the self-control required to not just "send it" over all the ramps!

This was touring cars so no jumps. I did it for about 2 months. Then I started playing golf badly fortunately there are folks worst than me at that.

Ah but you get to go home, plow the missus, grab a beer and abuse them on CoD whilst they try to spell boobs in their alphabet spaghetti.

Just treated myself to a HPi Vorza S Flux 1/8 buggy……

Took the Savage to its first skatepark today. Even on 2s it was flying took a few tumbles and hard landings but no breakages just a few scuffs.

I think im addicted already…..lol…

Got my lad a FMS FCX24 Power Wagon for xmas and what a cool little RC it is. The 2 speeds makes it great little crawler for controlled fun but then you can pop it into its higher speed and its rapid enough to keep younger/beginner users amused.

Yep, they're great. Love mine! Done a range of mods to it, new wheels + tyres, extended wheelbase, new rear bed. Also some accidental mods like smashing the front lights off rolling down some rocks...
