Just looking at the RT again, no mention of what FSR mode they are using?

Yep could be the same as the Nvidia DLSS 3 vs 2 trick. I reckon RT performance will be awful.

I reckon in pure rasterisation 7900XT will be the same as the 4080. And 7900XTX behind the 4090.

Just to double check guys. AMD did NOT do any benchmarks vs the 4090? So are we rest assured that they avoided this because sadly the 4090 does better their cards comfortably or did I miss a slide where they did head to head benchmarks?

Nvidia did not bench against AMD in their launch event. ALso would like to see raster numbers as I give not one **** about RT.

Nvidia are in the crap with the 4080 16gb of course still need to look at performance of AMD card can buy 7900 for less lol

Disappointing didn't show anything about the 7800xt which should be priced well looking at 7900 pricing

I'm getting a sneaky feeling we may see a dual gpu card....from them as they have the power headroom to do it. or a chip with 2x the shader parts instead of the one now.

I feel th at will be the 8000 series, this is the first of the new architecture, so then go balls to the wall with the next one.

I wish they didn't worry about power efficiency as much though. When you're spending this much on a GPU you tend to worry less about power demands, imagine how beastly this would be if they went for Nvidias power.

Hopefully we get some reviews this month, was hoping for a November launch!!

Tbh the price is not that bad but the RT perf is very bad (at least very bad vs my expectations).
If you can find a 3090 or 3090 Ti less expensive, you can buy that instead, probably won't have the same raster perf but you will have a better RT performance and better support. Or wait for the lower end Ada, probably the 4070 will have better RT perf than RDNA 3.
Is there any reason not to buy a lower end ADA GPU around the same price?

If that is CP and DL 2 MAXED with FSR quality, that is decent enough uplift tbf.

cp2077 benchies dont look good compared to nvidia.. can anyone summarize the stuff, hitman 3 fps were going through the roof though
a simple benchmark like the timespy extreme can often be helpful while figuring out various permutations and combinations

They only had old cards to compare to.

AMD could have compared as the 4090 is now out in the wild.

NVIDIA gave us performance metrics vs the 30 series which is easy to extrapolate amd compare performance for existing GPUs.

I'm 100%... did AMD provide any meaninful benchmarks ?? Did i miss a slide?

I think that's the thing, the lead in will allow Nvidia to react to the prices as I doubt this is reaching the 4090 in performance (of course it will in select games that preference the hardware) so they can adjust the 4080 pricing if need be. Essentially 6 weeks until the cards release.

The 4080 16gb is significantly cut down in comparison to the 4090 so if the 7900xtx is close to the 4090 in performance I cannot see anyone buying a 4080 for $1200. That price bracket just got demoted to history.

Of course as we have seen over the past 2-4 years MSRP is often a fairytale and the market decides on actual pricing.
