Well, 4090 is about 16% faster at native resolution vs. 7900xtx with FSR. Kinda DOA for RT.
Most likely the situation will be the same down the stack, so once more if you want RT nVIDIA is the way to go.

Probably they'll "glue" some RT cores later down the generations to actually stay competitive.
This is not apples to apples comparison as the 6950Xt only gets 42FPS with FSR in the AMD graph.

Good spots!

Oh well, maybe next year!

As said though, look great cards if you don't care for RT and want bang per buck for raster.
Hold on, those were non RT numbers.

So,

So, to make it simple. 4090 does about 42fps native, vs 7900xtx (if would be double 6950xt), 26fps +/- .

Ouch. So much for good gaming for "years to come".

Not sure it's that simple?

Oh posted something else before this, but yeah still behind. Though at it's price point it's probably ok.

I'm stuck in nvidia camp due to cuda but want AMD to do well to push nvidia prices down etc.... sadly it seems AMD have just pushed theirs up to match Nvidia... true '4K' pc gaming is going to be for millionaires only at this rate.

I'm hoping we get a price cut for the 4080 16gb (to what the 12gb would have been if not less), the ad103 chip used inside it would normally be a 4060-4070 range chip after all and they release the 'true 4080' using the cut down ad102 chip released instead.

Can't believe people are saying £1k for a high end GPU is good. Whole market is a joke

Gamers defended the first Kepler Titan which doubled top dGPU pricing for £450 with the GTX580 to nearly £1000 in one generation nearly a decade ago.

And ever since Nvidia managed to rebrand its top gaming dGPU as a Titan and essentially charge top level money for what would be called a 70 series card(the 80TI) its been downhill from then.

If Nvidia had charged $1000 for an RTX4090,the RX7900XTX would have probably replaced the RX6800XT at $699. But the reality is AMD could easily undercut the RTX4070 16GB(same sized die as the RTX3070) at $1200,by charging exactly the same price for the RX6900XT/RX6950XT.

If AMD figures are true, then that is a 50% to 70% generational increase at the same USD price generation on generation. Nvidia, made it easy for AMD.

The 4080 16gb is significantly cut down in comparison to the 4090 so if the 7900xtx is close to the 4090 in performance I cannot see anyone buying a 4080 for $1200. That price bracket just got demoted to history.

Of course as we have seen over the past 2-4 years MSRP is often a fairytale and the market decides on actual pricing.

If nvidia are paying lots for their package then this will be interesting how low they can cut it. If you look at the ampere cards not dropping below msrp after 2 years and on cheaper samsung then...

this is perhaps the first time i am so confused that i cant make out whats what..
with so many permutations around presets and non-standard set of games.
nvidia atleast leaked the timespy score even if they didnt show it during presentation
The only point to go on here is the 61tflops vs 83tflops on the 4090 indicating it’s a good chunk weaker than 4090. There was literally almost nothing on concrete performance in the presentation.

I like this GN guy, but they were dissing Nvidia to get on the meme train. Looks like marketing ran their show completely. (with no reins from the tech side.)

I’ll wait for reviews but so far it seems like typical AMD… close but no cigar.

I was actually hoping they’d smash the 4090 at much lower cost to force NVIDIA’s hand but just seems like they’ve come in at 80% of the performance for 50% of the price.
Absolutely demolishes Nvidia in performance per dollar which is what matters to the vast majority of people. I'd say there is a cigar.

It is me or the 7900XTX is getting way higher fps in Valorant and Apex Legends than a 4090.

M4bwqEQ.jpg

For Valorant, AMD is claiming 704fps at 4K but a 4090 is getting around 550fps at 1080P settings in this video:

The 4090 gets around 220fps at 4K in Apex legends.
What is going on here??? Is it really faster in Rasterization than a 4090 for a much lower price??
