I'm stuck in nvidia camp due to cuda but want AMD to do well to push nvidia prices down etc.... sadly it seems AMD have just pushed theirs up to match Nvidia... true '4K' pc gaming is going to be for millionaires only at this rate.

I'm hoping we get a price cut for the 4080 16gb (to what the 12gb would have been if not less), the ad103 chip used inside it would normally be a 4060-4070 range chip after all and they release the 'true 4080' using the cut down ad102 chip released instead.

Oh you want AMD to drop the price more so you can buy Nvidia card for less what Nvidia originally wanted ?

When you compare AMD to AMD the prices are not bad at all.

6900XT $999
7900XTX $999

They have given us 50% - 70% more performance for the same price as the previous generation.

Either way, i'm gonna sign off for a month, let the reviews come out and go from there. As long as the prices translate well in the UK i think ill get a 7900 which one will depend on reviews, I wont be paying 10% more for under 10% more performance that's for sure.

The 4090 does seem well ahead. Confuses me as AMD said its the most powerful GPU in the world near end of presentation. Just lying?
He said "The fastest gaming GPU under $1000" that's what pretty much confirms that it won't be as fast as the 4090. But the price more than makes up for that imo

Raster looks good - RT is weak (well, RTX 30-series approx). FSR 2.2 and 3.0 (their 'DLSS 3.0') will be interesting. Pricing is better than I'd expected. Overall I'm intrigued rather than dazzled - looking forward to seeing *actual* benchmarks.

It is me or the 7900XTX is getting way higher fps in Valorant than a 4090.

AMD is claiming 704fps at 4K but a 4090 is getting around 550fps at 1080P settings in this video:

What is going on here??? Is it really faster in Rasterization than a 4090 for a much lower price??
AMD cards are usually pretty good for raster performance.

So do we compare the XTX against the 4080 then? Seeing as it's priced below that. I'm glad they didn't follow Nvidia trying to scrape extra performance with ridiculous power draw, but I'm sure that's what the 7950 will be for...

Guy in the video would be CPU limited with his 5950x @ 1080p resolution.

I assume AMD did the new benchmarks with the 7950x, so that would account for some of the difference.

Actually I want both AMD and Nvidia to drop their prices to more sensible consumer orientated prices.... £1000+ for a high end GAMING gpu is too high imo, even worse when you consider the current economic climate (not just in the UK)
