They should be in the RTX4000 thread complaining about why the RTX4060 12GB was £900 and the RTX4070 16GB is nearly £1300,and why apparently Nvidia said they didn't want to discount Ampere cards(reading some comments on here). More of that Ampere level RT performance for the immediate future for most gamers!

So,Nvidia is holding back mass market RT improvements,meaning less adoption of shiny RT latex/chrome effects!

So what do we think of this design?

I think it looks better than any AIB design i have seen to date.
It is quite a busy design but it isn't vulgar, its well proportioned with some nice design touches like the way the fan blades integrate in to a design feature of the fan hub, and the 3 red fins on the top of the cooler is a nice touch.

Its been properly an competently designed from sculptural point of view, IMO it looks really good.

Oh.... and its not too ####'ing big. Its a nice size.

Going to be a rocky few years for AMD, intel sweeps aside their new am5 Cpus with raptor and rdna 3 is not what we expected and both cards will retail at and over a grand here. Lisa has her work cut out.

It looks really good, and also not the size of a house brick.

I can't find any AIB pics, so can't compare.

Don't worry, I'm ducking out of the "RT discussion" now as it seems you can't discuss any of amds weaknesses as peoples jimmies always get rustled too much :cry:

Even when it is nothing to do with it being a nvidia vs amd thing but sadly that is what it always comes down to in these threads :cry:

There is your answer. It was not created to make money for the company. It was designed to show what can be done and it did that beautifully. But the gaming companies need to make money they can't make tech demos 24/7. Therefore it will be easier for any company to go to the old route and make their games available to Pascal ( or even older ), older Radeon, Switch and Steamdeck owners too.

Interesting take! Hadn't really thought about it from that angle, but the sharp change of revenue for NV definitely adds weight

It's been discussed to death. Everyone is aware of the RT deficiencies. Many just not that fussed about RT....yet.

Rumour mill says we`ll see 3 x pci power AIB versions as well; AMD reference has gone for middling efficiency vs performance.

But people know from long experience that AMD's weaker RT performance is what gets you aroused...no-one wants to think of that while they're eating a Satuday morning bacon sarnie.

I'm disappointed the RT performance isn't more than the increase in raster, but I don't think its that bad, worst cases its as slow as a 3090.

There's a boatload of £700 3090's available 2nd hand, that's what the majority will buy IMO.

Raster is irrelevant, no one needs either of the top cards for raster only. For raster you might as well buy a 2 old gen card and be happy with that.

If the tables were turned, everyone knows the hypocrisy would be real sweet to read.

Why would I want that, last gen cards don't do 1440p 144Hz rasterisation so to even get that in games I would need to look at newer cards and again in some games the 4090/7900xtx still won't offer that.

FSR and DLSS are garbage and don't use either. Also DLSS 3 fake frames is awful cause it increases latency, the opposite of what more frames do so all its there for is to increase a bar chart in reviews and epeen.

Right.... so AMD's brand new card with a 3 year warrenty should compete with an Ebay GPU that's spent the last two years mining.

If that's your idea of fair competition then AMD can never compete.
