Recommend me some trance?

I heard this at the end of an 'A State of Trance' set in my car last night and I got goosebumps :D

Is anyone going to this event? I'm tempted to drive all the way from Cardiff just to see all those amazing Anjunabeats DJ's. Never been clubbing by myself before but I will definitely make the exception for A&B!

There is a 50% chance i might be going to this! Need to scrape £40 or so together

I couldn't find a hotel for under £109 in that area with parking so I don't think I'll be going :(

Train there and first train home?

EDIT\ Just had a quick look on the trainline.com:

Outwards
Cardiff - London Paddington
Dep 13.55
Arr 16.03
0 changes
Cost £15.50

Return
London Paddington - Cardiff
Dep 07.00
Arr 09.41
1 Change
Cost £15.50

£31 in total, probably cheaper than petrol alone would have cost you!

well, i'm right into Super8 & Tab atm, especially Elektra, Suru is also good, i'm currently listening to Anjuna beats worldwide #073, mixed by them, it's awesome.

an oldie i've recently found too is Black pearl - Bounty Island, really like that too.

Helsinki Scorchin > * ;)

My No.1 Favorite atm is definitely Never Again - Robert Nickson (Nitrous Oxide mix)!!!!

Whats everyone elses opinions on this? Contender for tune of the year?

Whilst it's a decent track i don't think it's quite TOTY material.

My contenders so far would probably be:

Martin Roth - Off the world (Gareth Emery Remix)
Pascal Feliz - Reflect

Just flicking through my 2008 folder and i have to say 2008 has been a fantastic year, so many good tracks!

Has anyone heard Fred Baker - Voices ? Thoughts?

I think I've just been listening to it for so long that my ears are too used to it, and nothing stands out.

I can certainly relate to this although it's less for energetic trance and more for 'fluffy' trance. The exact same synths and drum rolls and oversized breakdowns all start rolling into one after a while!

Oh Yes :D His NuStyle mix of Sensation Seekers gets played waaaay too often in my house.

I should be wearing a red Anjunabeats t-shirt. Hopefully the dress-code is casual!

I'll see your Sensation Seekers remix and raise you one of the best tracks of '06: Tillmann - Uhrmacher (Martin Roth Remix) :p

Come say hi if you see this tshirt (but for christ's sake don't call me 'Grrrrr' :p, Pete will do fine!)

And yes I chickened out of posting the full picture, there's plenty of other terrible photos of me floating about on the internet!

Any Bryan Kearney fans? Here are 4 remixes of his available for download

Daft Punk - One More Time (Bryan Kearney's Planet Love Intro Mix)
Kleerup feat Robyn - With Every Heartbeat (Bryan Kearney Treatment)
Bodyrox - Yea Yea (Bryan Kearney Remix)
Karen Overton - Your Lovin Arms (Bryan Kearney's Filth Treatment Remix)

The remix of Kleerup is superb especially.

I love Kearney, his work is mostly very hard and fast; how trance should be. Punchline is superb, more to life is superb, rotterdam remix is superb, there is a sample of 'Upended' on his myspace which sounds outstanding and i simply can't stop listening to the Kleerup remix. (The omission of exactly was deliberate!)

Granted the tracks i linked to sound a little rough round the edges but that will be because they were never going to get a release and probably haven't been mastered

The most consistent label for me based on my purchases would be Euphonic funnily enough.

All the Askew/Kearney/Downey/Tyas stuff sounds the same. Yes, they are faster and energetic, but aren't memorable.

I love Stoneface & Terminal so i'll give you the comment on Euphonic (not to mention everyone's favourite euphonic track - megashira ;))

Tyas pulls out the odd corker but 90% of his stuff, remixes especially are just hard kick with extra percussion, very samey. Similar thing for Askew, on the other hand i love almost everything by Kearney and Downey. Paul Miller looks like a promising producer and i quite like Colontonio as well
