Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

The way I see it, is it will be at least a year until PC version is released, possibly even longer if they plan to bring it out on next gen consoles like what they did with gta 5....

GTA 5 first release date - September 2013
GTA 5 updated version release date for CONSOLES - November 2014
GTA 5 PC version release date - April 2015

Lines of code etc. have been found in the game already regarding "PC" so it's not a question as to if, but when.....

Red Dead was never on PC and code was found for that too. I’m sure it will happen but until actually announced I would just get it on console and enjoy....

Can someone give me a no biased answer:

I have both a PS4 and an Xbox one s. The PS4 is the original, got it on release day, still going strong. I have no desire to get a PS4 pro or Xbox X. My Tv that I play on is just a standard LED Sharp 1080P TV. I won't be upgrading that until the next gen of console's come out.

Is RDR 2 worth playing on the 'standard' consoles and if it is on which formatwould you get it on, and why? My mates don't game on consoles so I am purely asking from a performance point of view.

Thanks.

Yes get it for whichever is your favourite and enjoy.

I have played on One S and even coming from One X as my main machine it still looked ok to me.

Another thing, on the PS4 it says to hold down (a completely indistinct graphic of a button) for more information when certain things happen. You in fact have to press the button, holding it down brings up the journal. I can't fathom why that got through testing, it's plain wrong.

You have to hold the Options button down to show more info when prompted, which is the button it displays.

Like others, I'm disappointed with the "4k" output on PS4 Pro. I've pumped up the sharpness on my LG c8 and now have an acceptable picture but with my usual settings I was surprised by the level of blur. This game is so good though it almost justifies an xbox x for the native 4k.

Looked OK!? I have it on Xbox One and think it's looks fantastic.

I mean not awful like it’s made out to be. It looks fantastic on any machine if you ask me but tbh it’s not the graphics that impress me the most it’s all the small details and the amount of interaction. The game feels alive and organic...

How many of you play with the minimap/radar off, I have it off currently but I find I'm still always needing to check the map and stats/cores by pressing down on the d-pad, and that is a little fiddly as well due to how the controls are with using the sticks, I think I may just turn it back on.

HDR needs patching in this game; raises black levels massively. Gotta hand it to Ubisoft and Naughty Dog; flawless out of the gate.

R* have let a lot slide tbh which should have been picked up. A way around this is to lower brightness on tv as a work around a crank hdr up from game. Shouldn’t have to do this though.

Finally installed on the One X!

Only got 1080p but the supersampling is definitely much smoother than the PS4.

Now to get this intro out of the way....again...

I was enjoying a nice ride back when some guys jumped out of a bush and shot at me. Finished them off and looted them only to look around and notice my Ardennes war horse was killed in the crossfire. :( It wouldn't let me revive and it's not in the stables, so I guess it's RIP.

The first Red Dead ran by the skin of its teeth and had many bugs. The consensus is that code was too broken to port it to PC.
GTAV PC was a separate build.
The code for 2 is fundamentally different to 1, and is very close to PC coding. It seems like they can much more easily port it to PC, although we can't rule out another separate build.

HDR is fine for me...

I gave up PC gaming a while back tbh. I’m happy with what consoles provide.

I do hope it’s released on PC but I imagine RockStar will leave it until console sales have dried up first...

I may have asked this but don't think I got an answer

If I hunt a 3 star rated deer or other 3 star rated animal and Get the perfect kill, should I skin it or take the carcass whole to the butcher in town.

Or if I have a trapper available to sell too should I skin it and sell the carcass and meat to the butcher and pelt to the trapper.

Take the skin to your camp as it can be used for crafting, you can either sell the carcass in town or donate it to your camp to keep supplies up.

Take legendary skins to the trapper as again they can be used for crafting.

Just caved and bought an X for this game. I cannot go on watching Twitch, i need to play this.

I dont think there is anything else on the X that i'll want to play tbh, i have a fairy beefy rig.
