Red Dead Redemption 2

I had a bit of a result with Rockstar support yesterday. I linked my twitch account before the game released, in order to get the free bounty hunter licence in Red Dead online and as yet I hadn't had the free licence. It still said 15 gold bars in game when I went to pick up the bounty hunter licence. So I pinged an email to Rockstar support mentioning that as yet the free bounty hunter licence had not unlocked for me. Anyway, it took them a few days to reply and in the intervening time the BH licence actually did unlock and changed to costing 0 gold bars, so I picked it up...funny thing is though that when Rockstar finally replied to me yesterday, they apologised for it not unlocking yet and gave me 15 gold bars for free, so that I could buy the licence without using any bars. They obviously hadn't noticed that it had now unlocked for free. So long story short, I'm up 15 gold bars :D

Aw crap, I’ve just finally got it running really well and looking stunning!

Spending more time tweaking settings than playing tbh but, the end result is well worth it, visually even at mixed settings this game is visually jaw dropping.

I heard that people weren't having much luck that way, so last time I simply took photos on my phone of the graphics settings, wont take me long to just change them back to what they were on.
 
Yeah as said I tried to copy back my RDR2 folder and it still reset the settings to balanced.

I do however have a copy of them as images and have just reset them to how they were and there does not seem to be any performance loss. I am going to shadow play them this time...

For a game with so many graphics settings R* really are ***** for keep on changing them. This thread alone should be an indicator of how much time and effort goes into making the game play the way people want it to be played and they keep messing with it.
 
I dropped this after the second day as I started getting constant crashing to desktop, have they resolved this as it was a fairly common issue and I'd love to get stuck back into this.

I was getting crashes to destop as well, but everything seems resolved now; 8 hours, no issues (touch wood).

The whole having to eat, feed your horse, stroke your horse, bonding with your horse..

it wouldn’t have been a lesser game if such elements were left out.

that was weird i just launched the rockstar app and had a 2.91gb update for this so went and made tea and av comeback to see it has completed and there is no way i downloaded that in such a short period of time my internet isn't that great.

Yeah it was odd, it started off at about 75% complete.
