Also, tested between MSAA x2 and TAA @ceaton88, personally, I prefer TAA for the performance. The trees are more crisp, but I can't notice much of a difference elsewhere. Good suggestion though! A setting for when I upgrade the GPU

Also, is there anyway to disable the vignette effect? It's really starting to annoy me during some scenes.

Fantastic. Totally immersed in it. The environment is amazing and random stuff quite welcomed and unique.

Just been killed by a mountain lion though as I thought would happen at some point.

Rumour on Reddit that a 300MB+ patch is on the way possibly tonight with a bunch of fixes including the launcher, my fingers are crossed it's not trolling.

Oh thank god it's been full reinstalls of the entire operation system for me and not even a splashscreen just a dead exit when I hit play.

What seemed to cause mine to crash was changing from Vulkan to DX12 before closing down the game. Plan being to see the performance difference later this evening. Hasnt worked since. Anyway of changing it back to Vulkan without launching the game?

Ok... Something has changed, all morning it's been fine, now consistently 3 back to back CTD's...

Last time it ran in safe mode I flipped over to dx12 and rebooted. Never worked since.

Could try moving the files from Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings

2160/2 = 1080

Eh yeh, that's not right mate. You are only halfing the horizontal, but the vertical also gets halved so its 0.25 of 4k is 1080p and ~50% is 1440p.

Think of it in mega pixels
1080p =2mp
1440p=4mp
4k= 8mp
All rounded up

Spoke too soon though, I get into the menu but now hitting an infinite load screen

Yep, instant crash as soon as I'm in game. I've changed nothing. It now seems I'm in the same camp as everyone else.

Try the suggestion above, empty the settings folder. Worked for me

Ahh ok never worked for me anyway mate. Just said it needs an update and then Rockstars Games Launcher has stopped working.... never ending. I have had enough, refunding this for my mates systems now.

I think it might be the camp, something is bugged as that's where I load in on, and within seconds the game just CTD's
