Resident Evil 1 remake on PC due 2015

Managed to have a quick go this evening and its just how I remembered it. Cant wait to get properly stuck in.

Never played resident evil 1, only ever played and completed 2, had a quick go last night 20minutes or so, seems ok but the controls are a little annoying when the camera angle changes

not sure I like this version, doors are locked which didn't used to be the new areas make it harder to navigate I don't know what im doing in this one.. I still have a detailed memory of every room layout in the 96 version, THEY LOCKED THE PIANO ROOM! I can't play this

I got lured into a false sense of security in regards to how easy the game seemed to be, yet I now have 1 pistol round left and that's it :S

Ha yeah same, its very confusing if you remember the puzzles for the 1996 original. Quite a few of them still remain though, but the order of things seems a bit different from what I can remember though. Maybe its just the new stuff confusing me further.

Anyone tried this in 4:3 on a 16:10 monitor? I tried it but I don't like having a box in the middle of the screen with borders on all sides

So it doesn't work properly on widescreen, I guess ultra widescreen is out of the question...

Little distracting how most things look so crisp and detailed, then you'll occasionally get a closeup of something that looks like crud.

16:9 is fine. 16:10 is a bit of a pain though.

Yeah, they could have put a bit more effort in to some of the details. They made inventory items high res in the RE4 remaster, yet have left them blurry in this for some reason.

Still, enjoying it a lot so far. My completion time is going to be awful with the amount of backtracking I have had to do due to a broken door knob and just generally forgetting every single puzzle from when I played it 10 years or so ago. I'll play through again with Chris and try and get a more respectable time.

Not 100% sure tbh, I went through and saw that I needed the broken shotgun, so went back through the door to grab it from the item box and then the door knob broke. So I had to wait till I got the second mansion key to be able to find an alternate path.

I am playing as Jill, so didn't even need the broken shotgun, which I completely forgot.
