RM before 1pm item not delivered

Regretting moving to evri from Royal mail.
I've had stuff sat in a locker 3 days now. And there's never any space.

Went to a parcel shop. Scanner wasn't working.

I thought lockers were done daily?

Might just depend on who reviews the claim then. I still haven't seen anything on their website saying they are suspending the guarantee.
It was on their homepage as a banner for a few weeks (gone now) but it's still on the website in black&white, under "Key information for national strikes" and "Priority Items on days of Industrial Action" :

And all the people who moved away from RM are coming to regret it, as I said they would.

I've come crawling back!
The locker system is terrible.

Says there's no space when there's space. Then there's space when says no space.

Then my items are in there 3 days now.

Ok.. I'll go to the shop "sorry scanner is charging, won't be available for 30 mins"

The item the arrived that I sent this week? Smashed. Lucky it was cheap.

Even though RM are slow at least it gets there. I take it alllll back! :D

All? Not here, Evri are still miles ahead.
Our local lockers and parcel shops always have room for our stuff without issue - and things are arriving in 2 days on average.

Nothing lost or broken yet either, 200 parcels in :)

DPD are struggling to pick up our orders for customers...either not sending a lorry or sending half what we need.

DHL seem better at the moment.
Sounds fairly typical for DPD - they were so unreliable for collections it’s unreal, and then the local depot couldn’t take them from us when we dropped them off ‘because covid’

No idea what's wrong at ours. Delivery is fine. But collection seems to be once a week.

Its now easier to use the RM pick up from your house service

Evri -
2nd Jan: put in locker
6th Jan: still in locker
RM -
4th Jan: picked up from door
6th Jan: delivered

48hr service. Same cost

Blimey, that's really not good.
We're almost fill our local two lockers every day (sorry everyone else...) and they're collected at about 4PM.
I wonder if it's a local issue; is it quite remote?

In other news, it's been leaked that one of our local sorting offices / collection points for Royal Mail will be closing soon - that's a shame.
All operations apparently moving around 15 miles away - in a community where not everyone drives that's a bit of an issue!

Yet another DPD fail here.

So my work laptop broke. DPD have been entrusted with the delivery and pick up swap today.

Just got an email saying no one was home..... and a picture of a different house.

I am already a week behind work due to not being able to do anything (secure network, can't work off using my own PC) and now this clown has just driven off with my new hardware.

Really not difficult to see numbers on doors. Picture is of the side of a different house, not showing the front door which would clearly show it isn't my house number. Suspect he couldn't be arsed to do the whole swap out procedure.

Can't even get through to speak to someone at DPD because the phone system won't let me. Absolutely livid.

DPD are shocking to get hold of good luck.

No not at all. By a medium tesco6

Now found out that our local delivery office for royal mail also takes prepaid parcels. Closer than the parcel shop but further from the lockers. But lockers are just too unreliable round here. Even more reason to use RM

Definitely a local issue the locker thing

We use them a lot for customer collections - way better than other couriers specifically DHL.

The tracking app, customer options plus 1 hour window is a lifesaver.

Not worthy of its own thread but how’s this for something frustrating? :o

I order some shoes on Saturday. Retailer says “it’ll be delivered Wednesday”. Perfect, as I’m not around before then during normal hours.

I get an email from Royal Mail saying it’s on its way to me for delivery on Sunday. Oh… I’m not in. Oh well. I update my info on royal Mail’s website to say ‘delivery to neighbour if I’m not in’.

I get an email saying “we tried to deliver - see the note we popped through your door and download our app to arrange a re-delivery.”

I get home, there’s no note. Huh. But there is my neighbour’s post through my letterbox. Maybe they have the delivery slip!

Go round to neighbours and nope - they didn’t get anything. Ffff.

I manage to rearrange a delivery for Wednesday - didn’t need to download their app at all. Fff why give out false information like that.

Today the parcel arrives - a day ahead of the scheduled re-delivery date  Good job I was in.

I know it’s Easter… but god damn!!!! :o And yea the shoes are swisshhh.

I’ve got a SecureDrop location for Royal Mail items that need my signature or not. Sometimes they leave a card accidentally but I can email customer services and have it redelivered to my SecureDrop free of charge. They normally charge £2 for redelivery but not if they’ve cocked up a SecureDrop one.

Sent my passport back by special delivery, checked today if it was delivered, but then noticed a day later. They didnt attempt delivery on the target day, so have now requested a refund and I will report here if they honour their guarantee.

The refund fund is flaky, I had to answer one of the questions incorrectly, as it misbehaved on the right answer, I couldnt add all the lines of the address as there isnt enough lines on the return form, it doesnt auto populate the sender address from the tracking, doesnt even have a auto fill based on post code. Finally it blocks all right clicks and copy/paste. I assume to increase the likelihood of manual typing mistakes so a refund could be denied.

--

Additional note, was lucky I took a photo of the order confirmation page, as the email receipt lacked a lot of the details including price (which the refund form requires you to know).

Other than automated reply, there has been no response from RM, so will likely ring them else I suspect it would be something that just sits there.

Company is a shadow of its former self.

Refund is on the way, but wow, its a cheque in 2023, not a refund from where I paid.

This wasnt confirmed via email after being on hold for slightly over 2 hours was confirmed on phone.

There is hardly any branches these days, not sure if I will be bothered to deposit it. Unless they can be submitted online somehow.

Most banks let you pay in cheques using their app these days or posting it in (RM may or may not deliver it :D)
