Good work Von. 
on my last ride some guy over took me on a hill and said "hi" and I noticed him on the flyby website and was tempted to comment on his ride but thought better off it.
I always wonder the true meaning behind it or they being friendly? or are they just being a sad ****** trying to show off.

Strava is being really slow, just not doing anything with the ride I'm trying to upload 
lol had someone draft me for a bit earlier in the year, he then went past and commented that he was feeling a bit unfit so wanted to see if he could catch me. Not sure what to make of that, seemed friendly but could have been a hah look at me going past while I feel unfit. Got a bit of a shock when I turned round to see him right on my wheel without announcing himself.
Also around the same time I overtook someone in a massive headwind, commented how much hard work it was in the wind. It wasn't hard work for this guy though as he drafted me up the road the cheeky bugger. Then he completely disappeared so don't know if I dropped him or what happened.
What is it with everyone sitting on my wheel?

Mine just did that too, got stuck at "detecting climbs". I just clicked on dashboard and my ride was there. Seems to be just the display not updating rather than the ride not uploading.

Ah so it is
lol forgot to turn my garmin off so strava has auto flagged it as being part recorded in a vehicle. Interesting looking at the drive back and seeing my heart rate through the drive.

commuting not so much but I know a few who ride regularly and we say hi everytime.. ?! someone is overthinking 
Start list for the Commonwealth games road race is up: men women
Wouldnt be too surprised to see Gold, Silver and Bronze go to England in the women's race.
Men's race is tougher to call. Loads of great TTers in there but the course really doesnt suit them. Mark Renshaw is the clear favourite. There are several short climbs but shouldnt be too much of an issue for him (Cavendish didnt have any trouble in the British Champs on this course last year).
I think there was a limit to the total number of cyclists across all events (Road, MTB and Track) that each nation could enter, so rather than taking a full team of 6 road racers a lot of countries have taken 3-4 road racers and padded out their road race team with riders from other disciplines.
Scotland have Grant Ferguson and England have Paul Oldham, who are both MTBers (and both finished top10), in their road race teams.
It's quite a technical circut (at the british champs last year it was described as a 'giant crit') and the forecast is for rain all day tomorrow, so the MTBers might do quite well. Will be interesting to see anyway

Good work! What was the wind like? It's been pretty blowy round the Surrey side of London.
Now, fingers crossed it stays dry and relatively cool tomorrow

My mighty steed for the London Tri tomorrow:
It's a 1992 Raleigh Strada in Reynolds 531 with an old-timey paintjob. Mix of original Shimano Exage and 105 SLR groupset. 6-speed 14-19 Uniglide gears and 52/42 Biopace rings, rims are early aero with Vittoria Zaffiro slicks, brakes are aero 105 SLR levers and calipers, saddle is a Sportex A50 and Laprade seatpost. Weighs in at about 9.5kg with these tyres.
All last minute checks done, shifts nice and smooth now the chainrings are actually done up, stem slammed and it's ready to go.
Oh, and matching shoes, of course

It was fairly windy, so great in one direction, sucky in the other. A couple of the turns were murder because you'd round the bend and get a faceful and just start going backwards.
I've cycled back to my hotel and made it in one piece. I had an apple core thrown at me by some knobscratch in a white van and someone in a merc beeped at me because I was, I don't know, cycling on the public highway, I guess.

Simple upgrade and cheap... Tempted! Gotta finish revamping my old bike first though.I wasn't sure what pump to get either, and didn't want to spend a fortune - might buy another in a while if I feel the need to, but I went for the Airace Infinity Sport from Amazon for £20 - been fine so far, anyway!
I'll just give the tires a squeeze every so often and if feels a little less than before I'd just give them a top up depending on the pressure once I get ready to pump.

I've got a joe blow and it does the job nicely. Tend to check the pressure every few days. Atm though it's dropping about 5psi front and rear in 2 days so might have a slow leak.

Might not be the most popular decision but i'd say split your budget in two, look for a reasonably cheap track pump with pressure gauge to use at home and spend the rest on a hand pump that you can attach under your water bottle cage.
As for when to check pressures, similar to skye i just give them a squeeze before i take it out, but if it's significantly warmer or cooler than the last time i rode i'll probably break out the pump anyway.
Had a really great ride earlier. Don't know if it was the torrential downpour half way through cooling me off, but i was pushing harder and not really tiring out much, and it finally felt like my cadence was in the right sort of area.
