VIRB Recorded my commute home last night with the speaker 'lug' removed, will chop part of it with Tuesdays also recorded commute home (speaker 'lug' in place) later tonight for whoever wanted a comparison.

Have you had a chance to compare yourself? Did you notice a difference?

Also noticed I have a ride from earlier in the week which hasn't uploaded to Strava/Garmin connect and won't Sync, what's the easiest way around this - get hold of the .gpx and import it manually?

Yep, do it manually. Plug the Garmin in and manually go the the Garmin site and upload it. It sounds like you have your Garmin Connect linked to your Strava so it should automatically sync across. If not, then manually go the the Strava site. :)

Had a brief listen and it does appear 'louder' but didn't have time for a direct comparison as ran out of time. Will have lots of time tonight so I'll crop and put the 2 side by side in a video for you to judge yourself :)

I've got my Garmin linked to my S5 and Strava so once a ride is stopped on the 810 it sync's to Garminconnect on my mobile, which then syncs to Strava, all automatically! ;) It works ok 80% of the time... The 810 regularly (50%) reports 'Upload Failed' even when it has sync ok. But this one ride is being stubborn, other failures usually appeared on Strava 20 mins later

Will toy with the .gpx today (brought my 810 into work for that reason) but my VIRB is at home :)

Nice, I'm still really tempted with the Virb. I've been looking at the entry level GoPro Hero. There doesn't seem to be much difference in price. The Virb seems to be slightly better specced for still shots and it features a time-lapse. Whether I'd use those features, I do not know.

Haha Ohhh on course. I'm still in the past with my Edge 500. No syncing with the Garmin Connect app for me!

problem with the basic go pro is that the case/camera is glued together, and gopro cases(mount bit) are prone to breaking! so it is tempting and by no means is it a bad camera but for £100ish notes, virb imo is a better choice! better battery life too :)

Yes, I had read about better battery life. Plus the battery is replaceable which allows you to have a spare and gives you the ability to replace it if it starts to go dud :)

On the subject of Garmin 810s, mine was playing up on Sunday on the club ride. The cadence sensor stopped working when cycling in the group. When I was cycling to and from the meeting point it started working again. Could it have been interference from another device?

Never had this trouble before.

Well jel.

Think I'll save up for a carbon bike next year.

Toying with the idea of trying my hand at wheel building next year as well... Wishing my life away, haha.

my brother rebuilt his rear wheel after the rim was worn.. ! took him like 12 hours the first time but it seems to be true and he had no problems over the past month! - I couldn't personally bother spending 12 hours doing it

Be careful with that seat post , if you weigh over 12.5 stone I'd be very careful. Did you chuck the carbon paste on the seattube? They have habit of slipping down and cracking the frame.

You can send the seat post back and get a normal one with a refund of £80~.

Nice bike , just thought I'd give you a heads up.

thought they fixed the issues with that seatpost?

I applied it liberally all along the length of the post that went into the frame and smeared some around the inside of the top of the frame (near the tightening screw). Tightened it to 7 Nm as per the specs. I weigh around 11 stone.

I was aware of the issues some folk were having when I bought it but I'm hoping I will be ok. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the level of the seat post and make sure that it doesn't slip down after each ride.

Soooo, I start yoga lessons next Thursday. Should certainly be interesting :P

Has anyone else tried it? I've read that it's very good for cyclists.

Don't have a clue what to wear, I'm guessing loose clothing of some description. I had look for Yoga clothes online, but they were uber expensive (£60 for some hemp trousers lol).
I've done pilates a couple of times. Consistently went in with back ache and came out without it.

Tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt (or stretchy cotton long sleeve) is best. You'll be in socks or bare feet. Anything that rustles a lot is a bad idea :D

12 hours?? Most guides reckon on it taking a few hours to make your first few wheels but 12??

Drool! That looks awesome, for a black bike anyways ;)

As for the 810, what S&C are you using? GSC10? I guess if it's using BTLE it just got swamped with signals, thyere is a way of getting coded BT devices, unsure if that trickles across to BTLE. ANT+ there should have been no problem reading it unless someone else had a ANT+ device miraculously with the same ID number (not impossible mind you...)

Something that hides your boner.

I lol'd.

So leave your shell suit at home? ;)

EDIT: Spent over £250 on Wiggle the last couple of days without checking my bank balance before pay-day (next monday) ooops  ... Not intending on keeping everything anyway

WIGGLE IS DANGEROUS! They have more sales than DFS!;)
