Need a front training wheel...

The nipple on my wheel snapped in half when I hit some rough Tarmac, doing 50-60kmh downhill... Wrapped the spoke around one next to it and wound the brake right out to get me home.

Recommendation of a H plus son laced to a white industries t11 24H hub was what wheel builder came up with, just a bit expensive ($400).

Can buy an Ultegra wheel set for that much.

Wouldn't a repair of the current be a much cheaper alternative?! Or even just a rebuild with your current hub to an H plus rim?
I really want an Endurance SLX disc now. Looks so good. Although, where do I put my Elemnt, those aero bars screw over the mount!
There's an aero Garmin outfront mount (Ross has one) which I imagine is compatible with the Elemnt?

Edit: Samba, postfix & Outlook 2010. Client upgrades to Windows 10. Because life wasn't complicated enough already.

Yep. That one. I need another for the ultimate though :p

The endurace CF SLX 9.0 Di2 disc is proper sex. But I have enough for now ;)

Who makes that mount? Sadly the Elemnt needs a new insert (this is all pointless discussion anyway, I can't afford an Endurance CF SLX right now anyway :( )

Roady, how are you finding your new protein? Did you buy stuff from The Protein Works?

It looks like rollers on a jig that adjusts angle to gradient? I guess also have resistance? SMART rollers I guess (not got sound here)? Pro points for the first guys arm tanlines. Nice and sharp!

Pffft! You had enough 2 bikes ago! ;)

Yeah from TPW but not been on a long enough ride yet to warranty any (only arrived yesterday!). Got 2kg and 250g free from Benny's referral for £28 including delivery. Works out at just over 31p a serving so quite happy with that! :D

Just wondering: What are people's approximate carb/fat/protein percentages that you eat each day? Or does no one track that precisely. If you do track, have you noticed any differences in boosting carb intake/reducing protein vs reducing carbs/boosting protein?

Approx values just from skimmong over the course of a fortnight of data:
Daily Carbs = 48-52%
Daily Fat = 24-28%
Daily Protein = 20-24%

10-12 hours per week on the bike roughly during that ^
If I personally dropped carbs to 40% and upped protein/fat I would be struggling for energy/watts... And the above is an increase in my protein intake as previously was nowhere near enough protein in.

Breakfast = Porridge w/ nuts/raisins/chia/whey powder
Lunch = Heaps of veg (spinach,sweet pot, brocolli,carrot,mushrooms) and protein from Quorn steak,. boiled eggs or Quorn chicken. Some pasta or rice.
Snack = Banana,apple.
Train followed by protein whey shake.
Dinner = Heaps of veg with form of protein again.
Snack = Yoghurt with banana,grapes,chia,nuts,raisins
Supplements = Multi-vit, iron in liquid form, ZMA.

More than you wanted, hopefully helps.

xdcx Nutrition stuff

That helps a lot! Thanks :D

How are you finding the ZMA? Does it help you recover better overnight? Which one are you using? Also, about the quorn: Are you vegetarian? Or do you just find it a better and easier source of protein for lunch?

Wake up and read "Light rain" forecast, so thinking it will just be the typical spit that we've had the last few days I go for my ride. On the return got absolutely drenched by some localised rain while going down a dual carriageway so spray from lorries and stuff passing too. Lovely.

I got soaked riding in this morning. Fortunately I've been on a hunt this afternoon and I've found the proper drying cupboard. The drying room I use is find if its just a case of airing to dry off a morning's exertions, but it's no good for proper rain soaked clothes. Fingers crossed my kit will be dry by home time.

No problem :cool:
ZMA is very effective I find, it really does help me get a proper deep 8 hour sleep and sleep is heavily overlooked in terms of recovery. It's our natural and most effective recovery tool so anything that encourages and enhances that is worth the trial and error. Good bedding, mattress and pillow etc is all stuff we should spend good money on!
ZMA very randomly still gives me the lucid dreams, not a fan I have to admit, but if you are dreaming more, you are in that deep sleep cycle more, so it's a pro/con. Using the Precision Engineering Holland and Barret one for the moment with the MyProtein branded ones lined up to go next.

I am a veggie yeah for going on 2 years. a lot of people question it and some even say I would be even stronger/better cyclist if I ate "proper meat" but I am doing pretty well off a vegetarian diet. The protein values of Quorn mince/chicken is very high, plus I eat quality eggs a lot and supplement with whey protein powder so I honestly do not see what I am missing out on being vegetarian at all. It's no big deal these days like it was decades ago, very very easy to be vegetarian.

Actually not sure where I would leave wet clothes if I commuted. Think they would mind if I setup a washing line on the covered balcony? :D

Motorbikes keep getting stolen from our work/neighbouring offices. The bike racks are similarly located... don't think I want to chance it! :(

I might have to give the ZMA a bit of a trial run then. I was a bit apprehensive, but I guess you never know until you try!

Definitely not going to question it here! You seem to be doing a great job! I must admit, I'm not a vegetarian, but I do quite like quorn. Like you say, the protein values are pretty good, and I find it quite good to just have around.

My only issue is cooking the quorn chicken pieces, as I tend to struggle to get them to heat up well. I guess you need a lot of sauce?

Give it a bash, but persist with it. The lucid dreaming will fade slightly but then again, you may like the dreaming as a lot of people do. I just personally hate it possibly because of the types of dreams I get whereas yours could be lovely haha.

The mince is spot on, my non-veggie girlfriend now prefers the mince in her bolognese I make etc. She hates the texture of the chicken pieces which I can understand.
I typically boil them for a minute to make them unfrozen and then put them through my veggies/put them on a veg pizza/mix them through korma or sweet and sour sauce etc. Or you can quick boil them a minute to put on fajitas/wraps with veggies and that sort of thing :) I know what you mean, cooking in a sauce from frozen or trying to fry them is pretty naff so a quick wee boil in water to thaw them and it cooks just like any other chicken and absorbs sauces etc.
