Not heard of ZMA, checking it out now! Use Taurine at the moment off FT recommendation. May have to get myself some!

ZMA is good, just make sure you get the proper stuff as the aspartate version is cheaper and not as easily absorbed from what I can gather.

Supplements wise I also take fish oil (again, decent stuff), a multivitamin and vitamin D3. I haven't been ill all year despite a much heavier training load so must be doing something right!

I don't worry too much about diet but I'm fortunate that I love fruit and veg. If I'm starving I do try and have decent snacks (nuts, Greek yoghurt...) rather than cake or whatever, but that's about the extent of it.

Just looking at protein works one as they have buy one box get second for a penny. Presume this is the good stuff.

Fish Oil and Multivit here too, and I've had one sniffle earlier in the year.

I got soaked riding in this morning. Fortunately I've been on a hunt this afternoon and I've found the proper drying cupboard. The drying room I use is find if its just a case of airing to dry off a morning's exertions, but it's no good for proper rain soaked clothes. Fingers crossed my kit will be dry by home time.

Just dont go removing my wet stuff to fit yours in! Do not be THAT guy!

I did read that taking more than 450mg of magnesium via supplement can cause some...unpleasantness downstairs  If I end up trying it, will stick to 2 capsules.

Fish oil for your omega's is always a good choice, I can't with being veggie so I put flax seed in lots of stuff along with chia.

I have never been ill for years. The worst I get is my immune system taking a whack fighting something off and feeling effects of that, but actual ill, as in, off work or can't train... Never had anything like that for what must be near 3 years now!

VitD is something we may all be deficient of, even more so us idiots who choose to live in the North of Scotland :p We seen the sun once, July 2013 if I recall?

D-Ribose is one I tried out recently. I found it really effective once during a hard session on my turbo but have not been able to replicate so not sure if it's dosage I am screwing up. Beta-Alanine is another I may give a bash as it's uses are the same as ribose in terms of energy for tough training sessions and to aid in the recovery after these. If it is legal, safe and could aid your training then do the research and give it a bash I say :)

What's peoples thoughts on when to replace gear/brake cables? Whilst I'm on holiday I'm thinking of getting them all replaced by my LBS.

Bike's done 5k miles in 2 years worthwhile or pointless?

they are all multistrand stainless now, so corrosion is a thing of the past. I have occasionally taken out the cable and run some teflon lube down the cable (need to have a weld or solder on end to be able to easily thread back through) but after only two years cannot believe you have a problem; personally stripping down the brakes to clean out grit and relube would be more a priority (but always difficult to commit to the downtime)
interesting to see what maintenance schedules others have.
Depends on the price too ? !

More climbs with Maxeh yesterday. Views were worth the suffering. Some of the segment averages though

Steep and slippery in places with cattle grids thrown in for good measure :p

Congrats on the KOM at the end of the ride!

Some of those gradients too, wow. That's a seriously impressive ride. The scenery looks absolutely stunning! Might have to pay a visit! What made you choose the south of Germany?

Go away with your lovely photos. That looks stunning. So jealous.

Was ummming and arrring over what to do last night. Weather looked threatening and I wasn't to motivated by the gym. I went out for a short/close to home ride in case the weather changed. About halfway in, the heavens opened! Still, a very enjoyable but short ride.

Be prepared for dreamy delights such as....
All your teeth falling out.
Spectating as your girlfriend wrestles a tiger.
Zombies AND dinosaurs chase you down the street to kill you.

I have never ever remembered my dreams and I got them very rarely. But on this **** I have mental dreams and I remember them perfectly when I wake up next morning.
