What? Sure he's got a lot of hype behind him, but I don't think you can really call him overrated.

People rate him far too highly, I'll admit he's probably the best British cyclist at what he does best (TT ing) but I still think he's overrated.

On his day, in form, he'll smash it. As others mentioned it's not a great track for it and one of my main things which labels him as 'overrated' is how poorly he sometimes rides for no apparent reason. His form swings almost as much as his moods!

I just hope for all the hype, media interest and our nations blind faith in him he doesn't let us all down!

Yeah, but he'll have to win that multiple years and the ToF again several times before he proves his 'legendary' status to me!

I actually prefer Froomy and Cav to him, probably because they're more consistent & I find them more exciting to watch. Then again I've never been much of a track & TT fan

I'm a tough one to please, maybe I should run a pro team

I like watching the vuelta with Rodriguez, Valverde and Contador all attacking each other...

...then Froome rolls up behind them having done 387.2835W every metre of the entire climb and ending up the same 3 seconds behind them that he was at the bottom

Most days it seems to be 18 mph average, getting fed up of it!

I cycled into headwind most of the way back and added a few (very) small hill repeats. Pretty damn hard given that it was less than 10 miles

I've never been on one but seeing Strava rides from some of the guys around here - fuel well and take a ton of gels! I saw one a few weeks back with a 27mph average over 60 miles.

Most here are 21-23mph over 40/50 miles (well beyond my abilities currently).

I would have been in the 'starter group' so only 20mph average. Sensibly it's been cancelled this week due to the pretty vicious winds. The Leeds cross-club chain gang is ridiculously fast though.

Not ridden them yet! Will be going out to RP on Thursday morning. Hopefully I won't get into a fight with a driver on Priory Lane for not using the bike path.
